The Row
Margaux Bag

Move over Hermès - there's a new queen in town and the Olsen Sisters are set to be sharing what will no doubt be a very stylish crown. If you haven't yet heard of The Row, let us do the honours.

Currently dominating fashion headlines after announcing that no cameras were allowed at their AW24 runway show, they're also racing to the top of the quiet luxury chart all while birthing the newest it bag. The brand was brought to life by Ashley Olsen and Mark-Kate Olsen in 2006 specialising in high end simplicity and timeless pieces. Think sumptuous materials, ready-to-wear classics and accessories that make an understated statement.

Of course all of the above comes with quite the price tag for each and every creation, with even their 'basic' white tees starting at an eye watering £510 and some pieces noted as price on request *gulp*. The hefty price tags haven't stopped the Margaux bag from becoming the hottest SS24 accessory though and since its launch it's been noticeably sold out across stockists; until now.

THE MARGAUX BAG

The Margaux bag is arguably the newest it bag and a headline grabbing modern classic. Dubbed by Vogue as 'A Future Heirloom In The Making' back in Autumn 2023, it's currenlty being compared to the often incomparable Hermès Birkin. A bag that's made a name for itself by scarcity and in turn has skyrocketed in price over the last couple of decades. The Margaux bag, despite being from one of the most luxurious brands around, is effectively and ironically a cheaper counterpart to the Birkin.

The Margaux with it's elongated top handle is a classic trapezoid shape with minimal detailing/stitiching and of course as is typical of The Row - sans branding. You'll find the style in either a structed or a softly structured shape, dependent on the chosen size (10, 12 15, 17 or weekender) and most importantly the sumptuous material the bag is crafted in Italy. Prices for the must have top handle style start at £3,980.00 ($4,290.00) and reach £6,380.00 ($6,810.00).

Of course all price tags are relative, as is the sometimes overused term of investing in designer bags. There are as we all know, only a handful of brands that surpass the designer market and head into their own class of fashion houses. They create some of the most sought after bags on the market and often despite their used and well loved conditions, appreciate in value over time. Only time will tell if the Margaux bag and The Row itself will join those lofty heights but judging by the demand the style is in, Vogue may well be right.

THE STOCKISTS

If you've been searching for this years most sought after accessory and your heart is set on a certain size, colour and material then look no further than the stockists below. All reputable, all luxurious and all celebrating the Margaux bag just as much as the next. Some stockists you'll find details of styles ready to buy immediately, some you'll find back in stock requests (for when only one style will do) and others you'll find in store information for the most special of colour ways.
