Pantone 2024
Peach Fuzz

The Pantone Colour of the Year for 2023 was the vibrant and vivacious Viva Magenta. A colour that was not only bold in shade but bold in every which way it was celebrated. Beauty, fashion, lifestyle, home - it richly acted just as boldly as its name suggests.

The New Year of course signalled the usual changes and wishes for all but hot on those resolute heels the Pantone colour of the Year for 2024 has arrived. The difference this time? While Viva Magenta crashed through the walls of our homes with all the power it could muster, Peach Fuzz has softly sidled into our lives and has been inconspicuously leaving its wondrous mark.

Peach Fuzz

When the Pantone Colour of the Year is announced it's inevitable we look back at the latest runways from the most influential designers to see who platformed the shade, who might have inspired the choice and where our next fashion trends are born. It's not only interesting to discover where the colour eminated from but to see it's already steady progression through our lives.

  •

Peach Fuzz like all the shades that came before;
is not just a colour.

  •

Leatrice Eiseman (Executive Director of the Pantone Institute) describes Peach Fuzz as "a hue that echoes our innate yearning for closeness and connection, we chose a color radiant with warmth and modern elegance." Of course anchoring a need for connection on a colour may seem a monumentally huge ask but as with all hues, artwork and trends there's never a question that colors hold the key to so much more than our first glance registers. Peach Fuzz is a reflection of societies upcoming trends, a signal for retailers to embrace newness and in this case, perhaps a marker to add a little warmth, comfort and freshness into your life.

A beautiful metaphor for spring and all that the changing of the season heralds.

Fashion

Not only was it seen on the spring summer 2024 runways and then ratified by the announcement of the Pantone Colour of the Year, Peach Fuzz and all of its closet relatives have now flooded retailers for the season. Featured in the collections of Missoni, Alaïa, Roksanda and Parabal Gurung, it was only a matter of time before the collections themselves made their ready to wear appearance, as well as feeding the colour down to the more accessible high street. You'll find the colour safely intertwined with classic wardrobe pieces like true blue denim and at home alongside trusty creams, after all we adore peaches 'n' cream do we not?

Beauty

Beauty trends come back around just like our favourite fashion trends do; seasonally, annually and before you know it every 7 years or so. The trend cycle is one that we equally adore as much as we faux dread the renewal of certain palettes. That 'new' beauty trend from 2017 (yes we're talking the boldest of coral blush and those glossy peach lollipop lips) is back with a Peach Fuzz tint and a wash of all things Pantone Colour of the Year 2024. We may not be going as bold as we once did, but the looks we saw on the runway for spring summer '24 are cdrtainly Peach Fuzz forward. Dewy lips, balmy cheeks and even peachy washes over lids - warm tones that conjure images of sunrise shades and flushed cheeks.

Lifestyle

And of course as with all trends, you don't have to showcase them in your wardrobe or on your vanity to feel like you're part of the in crowd. There are a million ways to embrace the Pantone Colour of the Year in your lifestyle. From your home decor to your home scenting to your home dressing - Peach Fuzz can come to life in any which way you'd prefer. In fact every year the Pantone Colour of the Year not only shows up in the trends we organically see throughout the season but Pantone itself partner officially with a select number of brands to showcase the chosen hue. This year you'll find Motorola, Ruggable, Spoonflower and even Polaroid to ensure every corner of your lifestyle can embrace Peach Fuzz.
