The Pantone colour of the year may well be Viva Magenta but if we're talking about viral colourways that are brightening the summer then lavender is most definitely in the lead.

Lavender, lilac, purple - whatever you may say, it's the colour that's available at almost every retailer right now. Choose your basics in the colourway, your wedding guest look in the shade and of course your accessories in the statement wash of the season.

The Trend

We all know Loewe can do no wrong and their bags can instantly become the 'it' bag of the season. This year their Gate Dual bag has been reinvented in a perfect miniature form and also in a beautiful shade of purple.

COS seems to be the THE place for great quality basics right now and they're also fantastically affordable. Their ribbed midi dress with a tank style neckline is ideal for so many events and in lilac is especially perfect.

If you don't already have a pair of Castañer wedges in your suitcase this summer then perhaps this new lavender option will finally add them to your vacation looks. Comfortable, affordable and made locally in Spain.

If your wedding invites are getting out of hand and you still haven't found the perfect dress for the occasions, this sustainable Reformation dress will see you through. Classic cut, trending colourway and sumptuous silk.

No pool should be without a Hunza G swim piece this year and Matches Fashion have the ideal 2 piece that's exclusive to the suite. With the flattering textured wist front this lavender bikini is set to sell out ASAP.

Norma Kamali

That's right - the 'it' dress of 2022 is also the 'it' dress of 2023. Norma Kamali created one of the most flattering styles around and this year has reworked the style in multiple lengths and fresh new colours like bold lilac.

Bottega Veneta

Last year Bottega Veneta released their classic square toe mule in must have raffia and once again they've scored a home run with their PVC and lavender option. Recognisable for all the right reasons and oh so comfortable.

Linda Farrow

Luxury sunglasses don't come much more luxurious than Linda Farrows designs and these acetate frames add so much fun to any look. This new season launch features a unique gold arm detailing and is exclusive to NET-A-PORTER.

There's something about coloured denim that never goes out of style and a true pastel lilac from Frame feels simple to add to any closet. Everyone should have a pair of denim shorts in their summer rotation and these are the ideal addition.

And if the summer nights aren't always warm enough for bare arms then this cardigan from sustainable brand Reformation. Style it alone or with layers but either way style it because it's in the shade of the year.
