5 Smart Designer
Bag Purchases

It's one of the biggest fashion choices you'll make and it can certainly be an expensive one too, so of course you want to do as Indiana Jones did and choose wisely.

There are so many brands to choose from and so many styles to lust over - so where do we start?  That first designer bag purchase is often the start of a life long love affair with a designer too so when you're hoping for something that will be your best fashion friend for years to come, you want to make an informed decision.

Here are 5 of the best choices around for a big designer bag purchase and why they'd make such smart choices if this indeed the first one you're welcoming into your closet.

ONE

Bvlgari | Serpenti Forever Crossbody Bag

Bvlgari have some of the best quality bags around and their Serpenti collection is at the heart of their iconic branding. Their classic crossbody styles have always been a great addition to any bag lovers collection but the way they wear means they're at the top of the list for a first luxury bag purchase. The Serpenti Forever Crossbody Bag retains its structure after years of wear, can be updated season upon season with a switch of a strap but never goes out of style with its classic shape.

TWO

Louis Vuitton | Multi Pochette Accessoires

Louis Vuitton are never not in the top list of brands to lust over and choosing the right bag can be a sure fire fashion investment for years to come. Not only is their something wonderfully special about adding a Louis Vuitton as your first designer bag purchase but if you choose the Multi Pochette Accessoires you're adding a 3 in 1 addition to your closet. Use the style in whichever way you please, switch up the accessories as your style changes but you'll be wearing this particular bag for years because the monogrammed canvas is one of the most hard wearing materials from the brand.

THREE

Saint Laurent | Le 5 à 7 Hobo Bag

Saint Laurent will often be at the top of most people's wishlists no matter the season because their classic, always loved offering transcends the typical brand switch ups. The brand always has and likely always will ensure their core offering indulges in those of us who don't stray too far from pieces that make up the foundation of our closets. The Le 5 à 7 Hobo Bag is the ideal straddle between trend and classic, nodding to the must have smaller shoulder silhouette but in Saint Laurent smooth leather and subtle colour choices.

FOUR

Jimmy Choo | Bon Bon Bucket Bag

Jimmy Choo bags always make a wave when they appear in the new season and their reinvention of their best sellers has a way of making sure there's a colourway you'll need in your life. The Bon Bon Bucket Bag usually leans more towards an occasion or evening style, perfect for someone who's already a luxury lover but the brands newest iteration is the ideal everyday purchase. This season sees the style reimagined with a detachable shoulder strap, a roomy main compartment perfect for travel and is even created with soft, supple, sustainable leather.

FIVE

Loewe | Puzzle Bag

Loewe as a brand is the thing of cool girl dreams and the Puzzle Bag especially has become an icon on the arm of said girls. As the style grows and matures into itself the brand has started to offer multiple sizes, multiple colour ways and injected a little fun with customisable accessories to personalise the pick. The Puzzle Bag is exactly what you need in an everyday addition with crossbody as an option, colourways to suit your exact personal style and subtle brand detailing with embossed logos that are recognisable but won't date your choice.
