Trending Spring
Accessories

Following on from some of my recent trend posts and what pieces we're starting to see across social media as the season progresses, I thought I'd delve into what's new in my own wardrobe this season so far.

What are the new in things I've invested in, what are the new pieces you'll be seeing styled on my socials and what trends from my favourite brands have caught my eye in 2021 so far?

I've recently been filming my monthly fashion news over on YouTube full of all the hottest collaborations, brand news and seasonal launches but we all know that just because something's trending online, it doesn't necessarily mean it'll fit seamlessly into our closets.

Here's what I've taken the plunge with so far this spring and how I'm styling them!

PS - What do you do when the weather doesn't play ball for a quick outdoor photoshoot in England? You have it in your dining room/orangery of course - et voilà!

A New Woven Bag

If you're an avid reader of the blog you'll know I dedicated a full styling post a few weeks ago to the trending bag of the season, the spring summer style we're seeing on every corner - the raffia bag. More natural materials, beautiful weaves, all things canvas, raffia or linen for a more summery take on the usual handbag styles in our non holiday wardrobes. There are currently so many to choose from out there no matter your budget but for me this new in style from Bvlgari who I'm a proud ambassador for, immediately caught my eye when I laid eyes on it earlier this year. With the signature Serpenti detailing, the versatile top handle as well as the crossbody strap, along with the contrast leather base and the natural fringe to edge feels like the perfect mix of the trend but with a truly season shifting shape.

Some Chunky Gold Jewellery

If it's chunky, statement and pairs easily with a multitude of necklines (for this season and the next) then I'm well and truly sold and it's likely it's already in my collection. The last few months I've found myself drawn to jewellery that feels like it's the next natural step in my jewellery journey - do with that information what you will... ;) I love pieces that feel bold, weighty, hammered, natural, sometimes colourful and hold their own when you style them with your most worn pieces. I always feel the jewellery you choose should be bold enough to stand alone, yet suit your chosen look seamlessly without fading too far into the background, after all that's the joy in accessorising right? I've got a few favourite pieces in my jewellery box right now but this super simple yet chunky necklace from sustainable brand Laura Lombardi is one of my most worn.

A Statement Wrap Belt

A brand new addition in the last couple of weeks but a piece I've been on the look out for for quite some time. They were seen all over the runways last season and as someone who's a belt lover and also often opts to cinch my waist in to enhance my natural silhouette, a wrap belt felt like a piece I'd style often and well. Belted around dresses, blazers and high waist trousers predominantly but opting for a classic colour felt even more versatile in the long run for me. You may have seen I tried a new Bottega Veneta wrap belt last month but felt it didn't have the balance of trend and versatility I look for with a luxury piece. Then this beautiful piece from Jacquemus came into my life while adding some new in items to my Net a Porter wishlist and I was right to wait! The detailing is so unique and feels much more in-keeping with my usual styling.

Some Comfortable Summer Sandals

I know I know, you may be thinking "Sorry Victoria how old are you again?!" but honestly my biggest worry with any spring summer shoe addition is comfort! Yes of course I want them to look incredible, be on trend if that's the route I'm opting for and be versatile in my current closet but if they're not comfortable then they're not welcome I'm afraid! I feel I'm old enough now to know that a pair of Louboutins although beautiful and swoon worthy for the right occasion, will never be as kind to my poor feet as great mule, espadrille or a sandal. Loewe recently launched another collection with Paula's Ibiza and not only did one of their basket totes fall into my shopping bag, so did these ankle strap espadrilles with iconic logo detailing to the front.
