The Big Item
Gift Guide
- Christmas Gift Guides 2020 -
This year I've seen a real split of how people are looking to spend and enjoy the Holiday season. My own friends, my immediate family, the community we've built online - we all have different ideas of how this year should end.
So many of us have decided to make the best of things and in-keeping with the restrictions and regulations of where we live we'll be indulging in food, drink and simply time to enjoy the day, others are doing everything virtually and keeping things low key and looking to celebrations next year as being the ones to embrace.
What I have noticed, in amongst the split of celebration styles this Christmas, is that people's Christmas wishlists are also split too. People either want to bring some unabashed entertainment and joy to their homes with things like games consoles and projectors or they want to add something they truly need like kitchen and home gadgets.
I asked my own friends and family to let me know what they wanted this year and here's exactly what they asked for, a true mix of joy and home must haves for the last of the gift guides this year.

Joy Bringers
Sometimes all we need is a little joy, laughter and entertainment and it's no surprise it seems this year, we need that in abundance. You may remember a few weeks ago when the PS5 was released Alex decided he wanted to make the switch from Xbox to Playstation after so many years but it would have been easier to make one myself they were so in demand haha! We finally hit the jackpot and came across a restock on the day of launch and I think if you're looking for either an Xbox Series X or a Playstation 5 you might need a sprinkling of that luck too!
Other items high on the list for loved ones this year have been speakers in all shapes and sizes as well as TVs, radios and projectors. This classic Robert's radio (ad) is so beautiful and as well as looking stunning in any room with its vintage throwback feel, it also offers bluetooth capability so you can stream music straight from you phone, as well as being Alexa compatible.
I feel like projectors are such big news this year with so many of us only being able to see loved ones outdoors for movie nights or wanting to bring the cinemas home after missing cinema trips in person. This Nebula portable projector (ad) came recommended from a friend when we were ticking off the Christmas list and it's pretty incredible. Cinematic sound, 3 hours battery life and the ability to download your favourite apps like YouTube, Netflix and Hulu. I've actually added it to our own Christmas list for a possible joint gift! No matter what your plans this year, if you're looking to add some fun into your celebrations there's option to upgrade games night, film night or even karaoke night!
Kitchen Gagdets
Hello - it's me the queen of baking banana bread when I'm bored and then eating it for breakfast, lunch and dinner. Because if you can't eat your favourite foods in abundance this year, when can you? I get my love of baking from my Mama as well as my surrounding family (it's something we always did together as kids at Christmas especially) so it's no surprise that kitchen gadgets appeared high up on the list this year. The year that banana bread made a comeback like no other haha! KitchenAid always seems to lead the pack when it comes to great looking as well as tried and tested big kitchen items and the mixer is always a top pick. This shifting colour called Kyoto Glow (ad) is a stunning pick for a darker kitchen that needs a bright pop or a monochrome kitchen that needs a wow looking countertop gadget. They're certainly a pricey choice for Christmas but a top tip is to check out the KitchenAid website directly, as they actually sell refurbished and guaranteed gadgets for much cheaper!
Another great ask was this sleek and chic KitchenAid blender (ad) and honestly it's made me realise my 15 year old blender that I bought at University might need an upgrade! It's served me well but this ice crushing blender seems like it might be a contender for next house item on the list.
And of course if there was going to be another brand on here that I ticked off the big item list this year it was going to be SMEG. We have so many SMEG additions in our kitchen and this toaster (ad) was a must have ask for Christmas gifting this year from a loved one. Four slice, beautiful chrome finish (spot me taking these pictures in the reflection haha) and an ideal new home gift too - a great upgraded appliance.
Frowhome Favourites
I couldn't even think of doing one last gift guide without being able to add in the most used big items in our house and there's no surprises for anyone what they may be. A couple of years ago we treated ourself to a new coffee machine from Sage and it was eyewatering-ly expensive. Like I can't believe I paid that for a coffee machine expensive... When we purchased Frowhome and we were creating our new office space, Siemens very kindly offered to send us a new coffee machine (ad) to utilise in it and it was actually so fantastic we ended up moving it to the kitchen and rehoming our old one. Not only was it around half the price (proof a higher price tag doesn't always equal higher quality!) but it was a dream to use too. So much so we then purchased a smaller version of the Siemens for a family member last Christmas and they adore their version too.
And for the big finale? A Dyson cordless vacuum of course. I still remember the excitement of treating myself to a cordless Dyson when my bestie and I moved into our second apartment together in Manchester. We both had such long hair and the cordless Dyson Animal seemed like it was sent from heaven for us! Fast forward to 2020 and I'm lucky enough to be a Dyson ambassador (pinch me!) and also to own the V11 Absolute (ad) which as a new dog owner is easily one of the most used items in our house. Another perfect new home gift I know so many of my friends own and that they also couldn't live without.
Happy Holidays to all of you! And if you still have a few last minute gifts let to buy, you can head here to see all of my gift guides this year. Thank you for all of your support this year and always guys x
