You may remember in May of last year, I was lucky enough to join L'OCCITANE in beautiful Corsica, not only to discover much more about the brands incredible journey but to immerse myself in the magic of the immortelle fields. Since my time in France I've learned so much about the brand, from their sustainability goals and stand point, through to the innovation and research that powers their best selling products and rather excitingly, the amazing secret behind their newest launch.

My Journey Through Corsica
Last years trip to Corsica was a press trip like I've never experienced before. If you've followed me here or across any of my socials for an amount of time, you'll know one of my passions is the science behind brands and their products. As consumers we don't always have access to the intricacies behind the creation of the products we love, but L'OCCITANE'S transparency is admirable and equally exciting. To spend time with not only the press team at L'OCCITANE who all obviously adore the brand and help to work towards their long term goals but all of the amazing minds behind their newest boundary pushing innovations too, was so refreshing.
You might remember on the trip, we had the most special day with the team that begun with a hot air balloon ride at sunrise. Not only was it simply spectacular and an experience that I know I'll remember forever, it was a chance to see the beauty of the immortelle fields from above. The abundant flowers, tended with such love and care by producers who have dedicated themselves to the crops over the last 20 years, that make the Divine collections so sought after.
After being able to experience just some of the fields where over 130 French farmers and 10,000 pickers sustainably source ingredients for the brand, always ensuring the highest quality, we were rather excitingly allowed access into the private L'OCCITANE labs. The science geek in me was utterly speechless and at this point, I wasn't even aware what was to come!
While at the labs we were trusted with the knowledge that the team had received test results indicating that two new eco-extracts, sourced from the immortelle flower, had surpassed all their intended expectations. The Immortelle Super Extracts, discovered and extracted by 100 researchers across 11 dedicated laboratories, had been found to naturally deliver benefits similar to retinol.
After 6 months of a strict embargo, in which I've been secretly hiding it from you all (I've had to delete and edit so much YouTube footage haha!) it's so exciting to finally be able to share the new Immortelle Divine Collection, revamped to include the new super extracts, has just launched online and in stores!
The Exciting New Extracts
L'OCCITANE'S cult Immortelle Divine Cream has now been revamped and relaunched to include the first of its kind extracts, discovered by their team of incredible scientists and quite simply, it's never been better. The research and development teams at L'OCCITANE made up of microbiologists, toxicologists and dermatologists to name just a few, have discovered the Immortelle Super Extract and the Immortelle Super Aqueous Extract through further exploration of their sustainably sourced Immortelle flower. The immortal flower with such sought after anti-ageing qualities, maintains its golden hue, even when it's picked from the fields. This new discovery had us all so enthralled in the laboratory, that I cheekily asked the head scientist if I could take some home with before anyone else. The answer was unfortunately no, but imagine my excitement when 6 months ago I finally got my hands on the Immortelle Divine Cream complete with it's 100% natural alternative to retinol.
- - The Immortelle Super Extract - A new botanical compound formulated using new eco-extraction methods and including 21 active molecules, some of which have never been studied before. The extract has been found to unlock similar skin volume benefits to retinol, but all while being gentler to your skin. The extract works to densify the skin dermis (which is made up of 80% collagen fibres) by stimulating collagen production and encouraging skin renewal, while being less sensitising to certain skin types.

My Divine Experience
I've had the pleasure of being able to integrate the new Immortelle Divine Cream into my routine for the last few months and I'm so thrilled to say that it's made such a difference in my skins look and feel. As a reminder I have normal to dry skin, that often reacts to intense temperature changes and environments that have increased air conditioning. Not only that but I have eyes that water intensely and uncontrollably at times, causing dry patches around my delicate eye area and occasional texture on my cheeks.
All of the above means I search out rich moisturisers with ingredients that not only boost my skins ability to retain moisture and protect its barrier, but that also help to fight the signs of anti-ageing. The problem with having skin that can quickly feel and look dry, is that it often means the signs of ageing (such as wrinkles and fine lines) can appear sooner and more prominently. And when I've felt a little lax on my self care these last few months (I know we've all done it on our not so great days and weeks) and I've skipped a few steps of love here and there? I certainly felt my dryer skin was crying out for some much needed moisture.
What I adore most about Immortelle Divine Cream is the instantaneous feeling of velvet when you apply it. For my skin it feels like I'm giving it a boost of all the things it needs to leave me with a smooth, enviable glow and a nourished dermis. The natural Immortelle Essential Oil in the formula feels silk like as it sinks into the skin and offers a protection that comes from an antioxidant as powerful as Vitamin E. Team that with the feeling of plump, dewy skin from the new Super Extract additions to the range and I'm not sure there's a true contender for such a rich and nourishing moisturiser. And with my skin suffering from more bouts of dryness and stressors over the last few months, like so many of us have encountered, I've found on recommendation that adding a couple of drops of the Immortelle Divine Youth Oil into my evening application, leaves my morning skin feeling indulged. And if I need some love around the eye area too, then the Immortelle Divine Eye Balm is a luxe addition to any routine.
