30 Last Minute
Holiday Picks

I've been home from beautiful Italy for a few days now and I already miss it so much! The people, the food, the weather and those views that leave you speechless, it was everything I could ever want for our first trip away in months. Just so unbelievably special!

I feel like the start of this year has been such a rollercoaster, that being able to take a few days to visit Italy safely, experience gorgeous hotels that are reopening to tourists slowly and then also have time to create some content for the blog, has felt so refreshing. The only thing that was different about this trip? I definitely didn't have the same amount of time to plan my outfits as I usually would - I know I know, first world problems haha!

Just a week before leaving I realised I was in need of a couple more looks to complete my suitcase style for the week and so I picked up some beautiful dresses including this more sustainable number by Nanushka (ad) and a few other beauties I've shared with you below.

So if you're planning a last minute trip at home or abroad soon, here's a few items you might want to treat yourself too or perhaps they might even inspire some styles that you've already added to your wardrobe this year - I know there'll be some pieces you will definitely recognise from my collection!

Evening Dresses

Think glamorous, think satin, maybe even think neon - but they're the dresses you know you'll only wear for those special occasions. Those beautiful nights on your vacation when you spend a little longer glamming yourself than you normally would and choosing that dress that makes you feel a million dollars. The date night dress, the fancy restaurant dress, the pre dinner cocktails dress - either way something that feels as special as the occasion itself.

Day to Night Dresses

The perfect holiday choices are those dresses you know you can dress up or dress down. They look and make you feel amazing whether you choose to team them with jewels galore and your favourite sparkly heels for dinner, or if they're worn with your most loved flats and a relaxed cover up for a little sight seeing. Opt for dresses that feel stylishly versatile if your plans might change while you're away and ones that lend themselves to multiple occasions or dress codes.

Versatile Shorts

Although I pack a lot of dresses for any sunshine breaks because of how simple and easy they are to style, my daytime look leans towards shorts and a simple tee. Denim and structured for cooler temperatures or relaxed outdoor meals and chic cotton with a tie waist for trips to the beach or heading to the shops. Easy to team with almost anything in your suitcase and perfect for post beach trips when your swimsuit needs to become an appropriate lunchtime cafe look. Et voila!

Holiday Staples

Even after I've planned all my outfits for any trip away and worked out my looks for the content I'd love to create, there are always a couple of extras I like to throw in that I'm always grateful I remembered. You won't regret adding a couple of basics into the mix to ensure you're covered for every eventuality. A classic white tee, a simple cami or vest and a light knit for cool evenings, are definite winners for vacations and even when you're back at home too.

Minimalist Swimwear

No matter how bold I tend to go with any of my looks, I've found there are certain swimsuits and bikinis I always come back to in my wardrobe and those are the simplest ones. The single shade swimwear with good bum coverage and a high rise brief to elongate my legs. With current trends you'll see bold colour block choices, pattern in the form of texture and a nod to 90's styling with scoop necklines and cheeky cut outs. Even better? They're such wearable trends.

Everyday Footwear

It's all about the mules and wedges for me on holiday. When it comes to vacation I often struggle with finding footwear that won't rub on those long and winding walks. You know those ones that you always seem to underestimate how long it will take you to get to lunch and then your feet curse you for days after? That's why I stick to what I know looks great but most importantly are incredibly comfortable too! Think flat sandals, small mules and rattan style chunky wedges.

These images were taken at the beautiful Catello di Ugento in Puglia Italy whilst on a PR trip. If you'd like to see more of the hotel you can watch our entire Italy vlog below and any questions as always let me know below.
