It's Finally The Weather For
Turtlenecks

Hello it's me - the queen of roll neck knitwear!

The catwalks may have been full of floaty florals for Spring but my hibernation ready heart has been dreaming of turtlenecks all month. I've resisted as long as I physically could and I've fully embraced the wonderful season that was Summer wherever possible but let's face it, it's definitely time to pull all my favourite knitwear out of the closet and I couldn't be happier about it.

From now until early Spring you'll see me sporting my usual cool weather uniform and I wouldn't have it any other way. Roll neck knitwear (quite often in white or cream) tailored trousers to keep things chic and business like when needed, some over the knee boots to style with skirts and dresses despite the chill in the air and coats that scream cosy, as much as they do trendy.

What's great about all of the above though, is they're all classic pieces that make a return every year - making that cost per wear as low as possible. So here are the 4 pieces I'm already styling as the weather takes a turn and some alternatives I think you all might love for years to come too.

Happy PSL season guys!

Chunky Rollneck Knitwear

The more the merrier in my wardrobe this time of year and I am so excited to be pulling out pieces I loved last year to wear again this year! Yes we all love some trend driven items now and then but for me chunky knitwear is a chic staple that I wear so often. The chunkier the better when it comes to the colder weather and if there's some other unique detailing such as drop shoulders, tie sleeves or a step hem then you can be sure I'll be even more head over heels in love than usual. Victoria Beckham and Helmut Lang are topping my favourites currently.

Cosy Teddy Coats

Tis the season of walking round the shops with me and watching me seek out the softest coats on display. I've always been a sucker for a cosy jacket, often with a little structure and leaning towards a more aviator style when I'm feeling a little more casual and often more oversized with a classic lapel when I'm looking for something a little smarter. Reiss, All Saints and Max Mara always steal my heart this time of year when it comes to beautiful outerwear and I've recently discovered the coats and jackets from Gerard Darel too - heaven!

Knee High Boots

I'm so happy that knee high boots are all over my Instagram and favourite online stores again this year. I have some beautiful pairs in my wardrobe from previous seasons that have started to replace my Summer sandals in the last couple of weeks. I've even added a new pair or 2 because I know just how much wear I always get out of them and how easy they are to style both up and down. Aquazzura, Jimmy Choo and Malone Souliers all have incredible styles for the season right now that'll all keep your toes toasty too.

Lace Detail Blouses

And an all year round winner in my wardrobe but one that I fully embrace when the leaves start to turn, is definitely a statement white blouse or 2 - or 5? Another chic addition that I know layers well in cooler weather, can easily take me from day to night and will see me through every season in a year, not just when the temperature drops. Needle & Thread, Zimmermann and Reiss all shine bright in this category and all feature in my personal wardrobe year round - with a little added sparkle for those festive events.
