The Best Suits For
Every Occasion

It's no secret how much I love suits. I would shout it from the rooftops if I needed to and quite often you'll find that I choose a perfectly tailored suit over any other dressing options. Casual, dressy, even on the red carpet - if I can wear a statement suit then I will do and I'll wear them for a multitude of occasions.

This season the suiting trend is big news and that means that all my favourite suits have been pulled to the front of my closet, ready for styling through the warmer months. It also means we can stop assuming suits are only for the boardroom, when actually a great suit is one of the most versatile additions to any wardrobe.

So here's my run down of the best suits in stores right now and which styles you should be adding to your closet, to see you all the way through to Autumn.

Suited and booted indeed!

CHECK MATE

I have really been getting my cost per wear out of this check suit from Me+Em and I'm afraid I'm not stopping anytime soon. The detailing on both the blazer and the trousers scream quality and the added colour without being too bright, makes this suit one to reach for. I've worn it during fashion week events in Milan, project meetings in London, road tripping through Seville and most recently to Wedding catch ups with my venue team. Versatility at its best I would say! A check suit is definitely one to think about adding to your wardrobe whether you're thinking of wearing it to the office or even brunch.

TUTTI FRUTTI

The Summer suiting seen on the runways was full of bold, bright and brash colours so a colour blocked suit will definitely hit the trend head on. Cue fuchsia shades of pink, sunshine shades of yellow, cobalt shades of blue and everything in between. Definitely a more statement look to style when considering the fruity colours trend but one you can definitely embrace with ease during warmer weather. My current favourite in the wardrobe is the most killer sugar pink suit (from Me+Em again) that you may have seen me rock during the Glamour Beauty festival as well as dressed up to a NARS launch event only last week. Bold, bright and equally beautiful!

SHORT & SWEET

Perfect for the sunniest of days, were a blazer can only really be draped over your shoulders but also a great alternative for a wedding guest outfit too. If you're not the sort of person who loves the usual wedding guest style that often involves floral dresses galore, then a shorts suit is an ideal choice and one you can utilise again. Take this beautiful patterned suit from Alice + Olivia. The pattern still nods to florals but in a more modern design and the cotton blend keeps it light and wearable for warmer days. From weddings to weekend brunches any beyond, a shorts suit is a great Spring addition you can team with sandals or trainers, tees or camis, sunglasses or fascinators - basically everything!

JANE BOND

And if there's ever an occasion for me to whip out a beautiful, chic and sleek suit it's most definitely on the red carpet. There's something about the safety of a tuxedo style suit that I love to style for more formal events. Ball gowns are lovely and occasionally feel just right, but the fear of tripping over the hem often pushes me towards tailoring even more so! Take the beautiful Armani pinstripe suit I was lucky enough to wear during the Venice Film Festival last year. I felt confident, kick ass and truthfully the best I think I've ever felt, knowing so many photographers had their cameras pointed towards me. If you've never styled a suit for a dinner date or an evening event, then I suggest you you make the investment. A great quality black or navy suit will truly last you a lifetime - James Bond who?
