Perfumes Are a Girls Best Friend

and Diamonds...
The happiest and most romantic time of the year is now upon us. And whether or not you celebrate Christmas, you can’t help but admit there is an electricity in the air this time of year. More people venture out of the house to treat and buy, everyone wraps up in their hats and warm fluffy jackets and there are smiles on the faces of the majority of the people you pass by. There is just an excitement and an anticipation for time with family, friends, excess food and drinks and the gifts under the tree.

You can’t help but feel it, regardless of how much you’re trying to put off that festive buzz until it gets closer to December 25th.

This year I started early with the excitement, spending time in snowy Chicago at the end of November for Thanksgiving. We ventured into the windy city, bypassing the skating rink, the Christmas tree, the masses of people with shopping bags and warm Starbucks coffees in hand. And I found myself humming Christmas tunes as me and Alex trotted hand in hand from store to store. The Christmas buzz had got me and I was pretty darn excited about it.

And so, this is how my Christmas story came to be.

A romantic tale, of two people in a wonderful city, meeting beside the Christmas tree with the most perfect of festive gifts to unwrap and fall in love with.

Christmas Gifts. This is the season for giving and receiving. And every year, we have to question what the perfect gift will be. For a family member, for a friend, for your other half. The latter being the trickiest; choosing a present that shows equal measures of love, thoughtfulness and understanding. I struggle with what to buy Alex every time his Birthday or Christmas rolls around, but in honesty, no one struggles more than him to find me the perfect gift. But this year, he picked the perfect present.

We met up in the middle of Chicago, underneath the Christmas tree that I swoon over every single time I visit. I told him to meet me there at 3pm, before the sunset crept in and the stars formed a blanket over the city. I waited, bundled up in my fluffy shearling jacket and burgundy over knee boots that I had saved for the occasion, excited to meet up after a day apart. And little did I know, he had been shopping. A trip to the Tiffany & Co. store on Michigan Avenue would find him walking towards me with the iconic robin egg blue bag in hand. I knew where he had been the second that I saw it.

A gift from Tiffany & Co

A Tiffany treat.

The Little Blue Box.

Within the bag, in a ribbon wrapped blue box, I found my gift. The new Tiffany Eau De Parfum. Encased in a glass bottle, cut into perfect geometric lines to resemble the famous Tiffany Lucida®-cut diamond engagement ring. The faceted base recalling the 128.54-carat / 82 facets Tiffany yellow Diamond. The signature T pattern to the bottle collar and an engraved Tiffany & Co.® mark hidden under the lid.

Everything about this perfume has been considered and perfected. If there wasn't an engagement ring hidden inside that blue box, this would be the very next best thing. Diamonds are a girls best friend, but a perfume cut into the shape of a diamond is the best of them all.

The Fragrance.

The new Tiffany Eau de Parfum is the first from the house for 15 years. It is special, empowering and sensual. An exclusive gift from a brand everyone knows and loves. Like diamonds on the skin, the fragrance is uplifting, beautiful and powerful. Inspiring optimism, strength and joy. Beauty and love is at the essence.

You can find it hidden inside the special blue box in 30ml, 50ml and the Christmas limited edition 75ml version.

The Notes.

Noble Iris is at the heart – otherwise known as the fragrance Diamond. This is a truly special, expensive and raw ingredient for any perfumer. In this case, Daniela Andrier. Iris butter is obtained through a unique hydro distillation extraction, only found in the Tiffany fragrance. It is bright, sensual and offers a richness to the fragrance.

The scent is a sparkling floral musk with top notes of vert de mandarine. With base notes of Musk and Patchouli, the scent is feminine, uplifting, floral and exquisite. I fell in love as soon as I caught the scent in the air.

#TiffanyChristmas

I don’t know anyone who would not swoon at the sight of a Tiffany & Co blue box. It is the symbol of love, luxury and emotion. The ultimate dream come true. For the person who adores Tiffany, this is the equivalent of a diamond, that you can wear daily with every spritz. It looks beautiful on your dressing table, smells perfect on your skin and uplifts you with ever wear. I honestly could not recommend this fragrance more. You can find it in a number of retailers, namely House of Fraser, encased inside the robin egg blue boxes and waiting to be unwrapped by your loved one. Or by you, if you deserve your own special treat.
