Icecream Shades of Dolce & Gabbana Beauty for Fall

27/09/17

Icecream Beauty

Location: Burano
Cherry, Mango and Peach, I asked for whilst choosing my three flavours of icecream. I was in Burano with Jaeger-LeCoultre and desperate to try some of the hundreds of flavours stocked in the little store we found. But consequently, I could easily have been referring to the colourful shades in the latest Dolce and Gabbana Fall In Bloom collection. A range of light, vibrant pastels for a youthful and fun Autumn vibe. There are three lipsticks, three nail varnishes and a beautiful spring like palette that will cheer up the gloomiest of Fall moments. Plus the latest Dolce&Gabbana scent; The One.

I brought them along with me for my trip, seeing as we were visiting the most colourful Island know to the world and it seemed completely appropriate. Plus, with a Dolce&Gabbana dress and clutch in toe, it felt right to pair the beauty to the fashion.

The three lipsticks span the colour wheel, and then some. A deep dark chocolate red brown, Dolce Inferno, a vibrant  lavendar lilac, Dolce Carezza, and a peach toned brown nude, Dolce Notte. Of course the nude was the favourite here, but of course it would be for the majority of occasions. For an evening occasion, Inferno would be a sultry, sexy option, whereas Carezza could be worn lightly over reds or pinks for a dash of lilac tones, or all over the lips if you’re looking for something more extreme. It’s not a colour I would wear alone, but it could definitely work as a light top coat over reds for me.

Fall in Bloom

The palette of the collection, as expected, is the star of the show. Mixing four icecream shades into the golden casing, there is a mint, peach, cherry and palma violet – good enough to eat and beautifully pastel for the Fall. I love how unusual this collection is for the Autumnal months, banishing the deeper tones and throwing in some light and pastelised tones rather than a black cherry, terracotta, forrest green and plum. Instead, you can use the blendable shades of the Dolce and Gabbana Fall In Bloom Palette build up a soft and feminine eye look and pair it instead with a darker lip. Or if you’re like me, with the nude.

On my eyes for these shots, I blended the peach tones over the lid, worked the lilac over the outer corner and half way across the lid before accentuating the crease and the outer corner with the cherry.

Dolce&Gabbana: The One

The Nail Varnishes mix and match with the shades of the collection, albeit throwing in a pastel baby blue. If you're brave enough, go bold on your nails with Inferno, confident on the lips with the matching Inferno lipstick and smoke out your eyes with the cherry tones. Triple Autumnal reds.

The latest perfume release from Dolce&Gabbana – The One Eau de Toilette. Feminine, enchanting and with a similar scent profile to the original scent, just with added freshness and a dash more of the Madonna lily.

Golden pollen, Italian Bergamot and Mandarin essence surrounded the Madonna lily, with Lychee and white peach. The drydown is vanilla, vetiver and musk and thus the final scent is sensual, moreish and ultimately feminine. This is one of those wearable scents for everyday but with that extra something special that keeps it sultry for the night time.

Dolce&Gabbana create some of the most beautiful makeup on the market – pairing luxurious packaging with unique shades and formulas. Yet, I must admit they’re somewhat hard to find sometimes. Your best bet is Harrods, as they are all currently available on the Dolce and Gabbana counter in Harrods. Otherwise, take a peek in Nordstrom or Saks in the US, or try the links I’ve left above. I scoured the web to find you a place to buy them, but I think a trip to the store may be on the agenda. At least you’ll own an exclusive beauty product that your friend won’t have.

Let me know what you think of the collection; the packaging and the shades they’ve chosen for Fall. Are you open to pastels for the cooler weather and how do you think you could work this into your everyday looks?
