Spring Wardrobe Essentials & New Season Trends

03/04/17

My Spring Wardrobe

The clocks have gone forward, the first inklings of sunshine are here and I find my thoughts wandering to late evenings filled with friends, food and new fashions. There will be favourites from previous seasons reappearing this Spring and also some new additions, to bring fresh life and style into the season. As always you’ll find me wearing a mix of classic pieces to transition through to Summer and some trend led purchases to inject some fun and newness into a brand new season.

Fashion excites me in so many ways, especially the influences we find from others, whether that be a brand or an individual that we can tailor to suit our own style. I adore working on personalising the trends we see on the catwalks, in stores and on social feeds to suit my own personality and to most importantly make me feel great. I dress in the items that make my confidence shine and the pieces that I feel passionate about.

Fashion and style are so so personal and what someone may love, another may wonder what the hell you’re thinking buying such a *crazy/bright/expensive  (*delete as applicable) item. But I say so long as you can justify, afford and enjoy your purchase, then you do you and express yourself! I wore this amazing outfit on a recent trip to Paris with the Chanel Beauty team and loved styling this Club Monaco jacket, some beautiful blue denim and a pop of fun with my newest Bulgari Bag. Spring has sprung!

So let’s dive into what pieces I’m loving and what trends I’m hoping to be styling this season. Hopefully you’ll find some inspiration from both luxury retailers and high street for your own wardrobe spring clean in the coming weeks.

THE NEUTRAL COAT

The coat of dreams for the Spring season. No matter what the cut or length it’s a simple way to lighten up those every day outfits and classic enough to style for those evenings outside or in. Team it over your favourite blush dress for that perfect romantic look or contrast over some blue denim like I did for my trip to Paris with Chanel. With your favourite boots added too, you’ll find the ideal transitional outfit while we are still experiencing the cooler chill in the air.

BLUE DENIM

A great pair of denim is always an essential addition to any wardrobe and can be styled year round, especially with the unpredictable British weather! Spring always calls for a beautiful pair of bright blue denim to my wardrobe and with so many cuts and lengths to choose from, the perfect Spring pair is out there for everyone. The classic mid-rise skinny that fit like a dream are my go to fit, but the looser boyfriend style will still bring that pop of colour into your new season style.

THE LACE TOP

Not quite got the sunshine for that beautiful Self Portrait mini dress to make an appearance yet? Then why not add a beautiful lace detail top into the mix for Spring. There are so many pastel tones to match everyone’s style and they can be an integral part of a mix and match wardrobe. A touch of feminine lace to counteract some edgy leather pants is a great way to incorporate lace into a less girly wardrobe. Or if you’re like me, it means you can add even more of your favourite texture to your style.

THE STATEMENT ACCESSORY

If there’s one way I like to bring a little colour into any of my outfits it’s with my accessories. Shoes, jewellery or bags are all great ways to inject a fun point of difference to any wardrobe and it doesn’t have to cost the earth. From simple to patterned to textured, there are so many styles, no matter if you need practical or pure fashion to add something extra. The key? Play with colour!

THE PERFECT PINK LIP FOR SPRING

What pieces will you be bringing back and what new additions are you looking for this Spring? As always it’s all about fun, inspiration and the trends you love! You don’t have to wear every trend head to toe but hopefully this post offers some inspo if you’re looking for some new season style.
