Very new experiences in a beautiful Barcelona…
If you follow my Youtube videos, you may have seen the video above, made during my stay in Barcelona a few weeks ago. If not then have a peek, as that video can summarise this blog post rather perfectly, plus its probably one of my favourite videos ever, it captures the atmosphere wonderfully.
I was invited along with Levi’s, with one of my besties, to experience Primavera Sound festival – a festival I figured would be truly beautiful due to its location. It resides on the edge of the sea, with a really chilled out Spanish attitude and relaxed atmosphere. It was right up my street. Although there weren’t many musicians playing that I knew, we still had the best time roaming around the festival, eating crepes, shopping through the markets of artwork, eating burritos and hanging out in one of the coolest cities in the world. This was the first time I had visited and I totally fell for it!
Seeing as this was a Levi’s trip, we were kitted out in awesome Levi’s clothing, which I certainly wasn’t complaining about. I have always seen Levi’s as thee denim brand and if you know me well, you know that I own a number of the Levi’s trucker jackets because they go with everythanggg. But due to the heat in the daytime, I opted for a few new styles. The cool thing about some of the pieces too, is that I had them personalised inside the Levis store at one of their Tailorshops. You can buy an item, or take your old Levi’s into the store and have them cut up, shredded, patches or studs added etc etc, to make them totally unique. So I did that with a pair of 501 jeans, having them cut into shorts with turn ups, with tiny V studs added to the pocket and rips to the front. Totally unique to me and they were awesome. Such a cool idea from Levis, and I’m pretty sure you can get things customised in the majority of their stores, just have a peek online at the Tailorshop area for more deets. But great if you have an old pair of 501’s in your draw that you don’t know what to do with!
I also went with a white classic denim shirt that I had shredded around the edges as well as a blue tee with San Fransisco on the front. I’ve scoured the web for a link to that, but alas they do not seem to want to be found, so perhaps a trip into a Levis store would help. And the rollerboots, they were just a lovely way to spend the afternoon getting to the festival. I also wore my cute Strathberry Midi Tote in Red (Inthefrow10 will get you 10% off) plus my Ray Ban Clubmasters.
If you’re looking for a new festival for your next adventure, definitely check the line up for Barcelona Primavera Sound. Whilst the bands this year weren’t really for me, the atmosphere and vibe was so cool, it was just so much more chilled out than our British festivals. If the bands were right, I’d absolutely go back there! But I had the best weekend hanging out with an old friend and enjoying the sunshine!
