Summer Scents

Summer Fragrances from Tom Ford, Anna Sui, Jo Malone, Fresh and Lancome

A scent for every summer occasion. Heres where I’ll be wearing mine…
Summer Weddings – Jo Malone Orange Blossom 100ml – £85

I am going to four weddings this summer, spaced apart over our three summery months. For that, I have decided that the Jo Malone Orange Blossom Cologne will be my wedding fragrance. A sharp and fruity option, of course shining through with the orange aroma, with warmed undertones of orris and vetiver cutting through the orange flower. It is very pretty, but not in a cute and girly way. It is a more mature scent for a lady who wants to stand out from the crowd, yet the light orange really helps to keep this a true summery scent.
A Day Trip Out – Fresh Honeysuckle 100ml – £52

For those days out walking in the park, or shopping in your local village or town, when the sun is shining and you have donned your favourite summer hat and sandals, the Fresh Honeysuckle eau de parfum is truly beautiful. Something about it reminds me of Anais Anais from years ago, but much more beautiful and summery. This is a floral scent with fresh notes of honeysuckle and magnolia mixed with top fruity notes of blackcurrant and peach. Therefore, the finish is a floral, fruity mix that encapsulates a warm summer’s day.
The Night Out – Lancome La Vie est belle 100ml – £81

I’m talking about the type of night, with your girls, going to bars and clubs, wearing your sexiest new dress and heels. Lancome’s La Vie est belle  is a stunning summer scent that I have loved since its release. With its floral ingredients of Iris, orange blossom and patchouli, this is a very sweet floral fragrance, almost towards the realms of Flowerbomb, but without as much candy floss. For a night on the town, this is the sort of fragrance that exudes beauty and confidence whilst forming a balance between maturity and youth.
The Date Night – Tom Ford Fleur De Portofino 50ml – £145
I’m splitting up the two Tom Ford scents, mainly because I feel they are suited to two types of occasions. The date night and that truly romantic date. The Fleur de Portofino fragrance is one that i wear on the majority of my date nights. A private blend from Tom Ford, this is one pricey little bottle, yet the liquid inside is absolutely delightful. It reminds me of a high summer day in Monoco, where the sun is shining and the wind is softly whipping your hair from your shoulders and you are walking along the coastline lined with lemon and orange trees, carrying your favourite designer handbag. And you feel on top of the world. This scent is pure luxury. It combines crisp and bright florals with a mixture of citrus and acacia honey for a scent that makes you feel at your sexiest.

The Romantic Date – Tom Ford Noir Extreme 50ml – £70

In all honesty, this is actually a fragrance aimed at men, and generally, for men. Yet, there is something so alluring and sexual about this fragrance that I absolutely adore wearing it myself. I think there is something so sexy about that whole image of the lady in the white shirt, wearing her lovers cologne and thus, I like to pretend I am this woman from time to time. Noir is really aimed at the confident male, and this fragrance is so luxurious and bold, without those tacky, sickly notes you can often find from lower priced mens fragrances. It is woody, oriental and combines amber tones for a strong and memorable fragrance. You may not want to buy this personally, but you will definitely want to buy it for your lover.
The Holiday in the Sun – Anna Sui Flight of Fancy 50ml – £35
This is the sort of fragrance that reminds me of my beloved Escada scents. The bottles of Escada with bright and bold colours, that they bring out every single year with a scent even more exciting than the last. This is similar, with a fruity feel, combining lemon and lychee, magnolia and rose and woody notes of white wood and musk. It is pretty and girly and for the lady who loves to feel free and beautiful. For a holiday, this is an easy and bright scent for by the pool, at an early dinner or for a walk around the town.
Which fragrances are your favourites for summer? I do have a few more, but if Id featured them, we would be here all day! Let me know which you love the most!
