Macaroons and dinner in a secret garden…
Location: Le Jardin Du Quai , Isle Sur la Sorgue, France
My time in France was a wonderful one, and even more so due to the food I lovingly devoured. In addition to the food at Hotel Crillon Le Brave, which you can have a peek at here and here, we also visited Isle Sur La Sorgue for an afternoon, taking in the sights, sounds and delights of local eateries. This particular area is brilliant for bargain hunters and those that love to rummage in vintage interiors and furniture. There were so many incredible antiques, scattered between market stalls, warehouses and tiny quaint shops and you could spend hours exploring the area. We walked along the riverside and picked up products and macaroons as we went. Just so much beauty in this area, it was such a delight to spend the afternoon amongst the sunshine and happiness of the town.
I wore my Nicholas Kirkwood Flats with an easy pair of high waisted jeans and my Keepsake knitted jumper for a casual relaxed style, with pops of colour for some excitement.
Le Jardin du Quai was a secret garden, tucked behind a vintage store. We literally walked through a store to find the restaurant to the back, although there is another entrance on the opposite side. We were seated on a round garden table, with cream umbrellas and iron chairs, and with the sun shining down through the leafy trees and a glass of wine in hand, it will go down as a truly perfect moment. And in addition, the food was absolutely exceptional. We ate three courses of colourful, totally fresh and exquisite food and were later greeted by the chef to ask if we had enjoyed our cuisine. It was outstanding, and a restaurant you absolutely must visit if you are in the area.
If youre heading to this area soon, I could not recommend Le Jardin Du Quai any more. Such a wonderful afternoon to complete a fantastic trip, surrounded by so much to see and do! A great place to visit if you fancy a day trip out from Provence!
