Get Ready for the Summer Weddings

With four weddings around the corner, I’m still deliberating over outfit choices…

I am absolutely conflicted this year, with what to wear to four weddings in summer. Two close friends, my mum and a good friend of Alex’s, are all getting married, and for two of them, I need to doll myself up for a summer-time knees up. I am at ‘that’ age now, where weddings become a yearly summer event to plan for. With two weddings already planned for next summer, I have a feeling this might be a recurring theme for a few years to come.
The wedding and prom dresses market is huge, and rightly so. Us ladies love to get dolled up for a fancy wedding. It’s one of the only times we can get away with really dressing up, in the type of outfits we might not wear on other, more low-key, occasions. I feel like with a wedding, flamboyance is absolutely allowed, and praised. Or at least, thats what I am telling myself. So, whilst I’m in the market for a gorgeous outfit, I had a little wander over to Lipsy. Here are two outfits, that I thought could be really beautiful for a summer wedding. And both, are very very different.
Both outfits are styled with the Peep Toe Court Shoes in a shiny nude which are actually 10x more comfortable than you would expect. But easy to wear with all of your summer outfits, and especially wedding and prom outfits, this summer. The bead and pearl clutch bag just added some texture and bling to the outfit, and of course even more jewellery would be beautiful. Pearls especially, but I’m a gal who often forgets to wear extra jewels, and doesn’t mind too much. But if you have pearls, fabulous! Oh, and I also wore Mac Cherry Lipliner, as with both outfits, it was the perfect choice!

Floral Fancy

I chose the Lipsy Floral Print Prom Dress for two reasons. One – it is so colourful, and recently I’ve been shying from the hues. For wedding season, I fancied switching it back to colour again and this was a wonderful choice. Two – the shape and cut of this is so girly and screams summer. I thought it was quite unusual and something that not many others would primarily opt for, which is great for a wedding where you want to look entirely unique! It is comfortable, not too short and the neckline and straps can allow you to go braless if you wish. Wonderful!

Nude and Bows

Option two is classic nude. From top to toe, finished with a red lip for some drama. The purple hair also helps to brighten things up. This is the Lipsy Bow Bandeau Dress, in a comfortable satin like fabric, with a bow to the bust and pleats to the waist for texture and shape. It is a classic shape I feel, and one that will suit so many body types. I have a soft spot in my heart for a good bandeau mini. It isn’t too short and the colour is just champagne enough to get away with not being too white. Plus with the nude accessories, it keeps everything so sophisticated and beautiful.
Which is your favourite? And how would you wear it? Im rather fond on the colourful print dress, as it certainly makes a statement, yet there are so many more gorgeous dresses in the VIP Dresses section on Lipsy, Im a little bit spoilt for choice. The maxi’s especially might be some that I try out next. I’m not willing to make a final decision until Ive seen all of the competition!
Are you excited for any weddings this summer??
