When you find a new foundation and you’re like woah…
Flawless Finish
Elated, is how I felt whilst trying on the new Miracle Air De Teint foundation (in 010). I’m a huge fan of the Teint Miracle foundation (number 10) from Lancome with its natural glow and silky soft finish. The Air De Teint appears to be a more fluid matte glow, and whilst I usually go for my dewy foundation, the consistency and coverage of this really didn’t deter me. As with the other Lancome foundations that I’ve tried, a little goes a long long way, and the fluid seems to work all over the skin so easily, its almost like your brush has an unlimited supply of the product ready to be applied. I’ve only known a few foundations to really transfer over the skin so easily, and Lancome is top of the charts for this.
Fresh Clean Skin
I should mention I started the day using the Lancome Eau Micellaire water, on a large cotton pad, working this all over my face to remove any left over products or dirt on my face. Most evenings, or sometimes morning, I have also been amazed by the Lancome Gel Eclat Clarifying Cleanser. This product is thick and almost stringy in its consistency, that definitely needs water for spreading onto the face. Mix some with water in your hands and massage it into your face. I will then use a face cloth to remove everything, for that ultra clean feeling, and my skin feels refreshed and awake. Its unlike any cleanser I have used, but theres something about it that truly makes me feel as though its working some small miracles on my skin.
Nude or Pink Lips for Summer
I find this such a difficult question. I adore nude and light lips for a summer finish, as it can work so beautifully with tanned skin. Yet a bright lip is so bold, brave and gorgeous. Here are two lip options, from the Lancome Rouge in Love range, to help you with your decision. In the images I went for the nude, wearing the shade 240 Rose En Deshabille, a brown toned nude with a coral pink undertone. It provides a glistening satin finish that catches the light in all the right ways. The Pink shade here is 361 Pink Bon Bon in a pigmented neon fuchsia that reminds me of Mac Candy Yum Yum. So so gorgeous and Ill definitely be filming a makeup look with this shade pronto!
Doll Eyes
For the eyes, I added the Lancome La Base Paupiere Pro, a bare-skin effect cream shadow, that helps to build that perfect base, whilst enabling your eyeshadow to stay set all day. Here I have the shade Beige Dore, and whilst it’s a tad too dark for me, the consistency of this reminded me of the Mac Paint Pot, just more creamy and easier to work with. I think I’d like to pick another of these up, perhaps in Beige Ivory next time. You may notice my eyes look a little more shimmery in the photos, and that is just because I added some of my Hourglass Ambient lighting powder to my cheeks, as my highlight and then lightly over the lids for some shimmer.
Additionally for the eyes, you may know I’m quite fond on coloured eyeliners, so the deep purple Lancome Kohl Hypnose Waterproof in Prune was right up my street. As always I went for my cat eye, working this into the lashes and along the line for a feline flick. It was quick, easy and looked gorgeous against black mascara.
And talking of mascara, I found a new favourite. Yes everyone, there is not just one mascara in my life anymore – Im looking at you Clarins Truly Waterproof. Yes, the Hypnose Doll Eyes Waterproof Mascara is a tried and tested beauty. It holds my curl whilst separating and extending my lashes. Finally, I have found more than one mascara than can actually do a good job of my lashes! The Hypnose Doll Eyes is the wand below, with the cone tip. Wonderful brush and perfect application. The second mascara is the Hypnose Drama in Waterproof. Its also great, but the curl hold is not as strong and I prefer the wand of the Doll Eyes. So if you were deciding between them, go for the Doll Eyes! Trust me!
Rosy Cheeks
And the final piece to the puzzle are the gorgeous new Lancome Blush Subtil Cremes. They only appear to be available in one or two outlets thus far and in three summery shades. The more coral toned is 01, Corail Alize. The Deep pink toned blush is 02, Brise Rosee and the more red toned blush is 03 Rouge Mistral. Above, you can see the coral, red and pink, from left to right. Im a big fan of the coral and pink especially, and in the photos Im wearing the rosy pink very lightly on the apples of my cheeks. Whilst these may look extremely pigmented and bright, when you apply them lightly to your cheeks, they provide a sheer and glowing finish. Nothing as you would expect from such strong colours. And their powdery to creamy consistency make them very easy to work with. With a stippling brush you will find these just as simple as a powder blusher. The finish is just much more glowing and natural than a powder blush could offer. I’m sold and I’m truly hoping they bring out more of a baby pink shade soon.
Has this answered any of your recent makeup queries regarding some of Lancome’s new releases? I hope so! And if not, perhaps you may have also just found your new mascara, or new pink lip for summer!
