A day on a magical Island…
Style Photography: Craig Howes
If I had one recommendation for those travelling to Japan, it would be to visit Miyajima, across the way from Hiroshima. It feels like more of what I was expecting from Japan. More water, nature, slanted rooftops and religious symbols. So far I had seen so much vibrancy and excitement in the country, but nothing like the picture I was expecting. I reached Miyajima and the relaxing and magical side of Japan was revealed. Wild deer roam every corner of this Island, looking for food and friends and ripping up anything they can find. Whilst a beautiful orange Shinto shrine sits out on the water before a breathtaking backdrop.
Whilst I had spent most of the trip in Chloe and Wang boots, this was a day I fancied walking on my flat feet, so I moved into my H&M Plimsolls. I wore my Reiss trousers and Maison Scotch sweat and layered with a jacket from last season at Sezane Paris – one of my favourite French Independent retailers. This scenery just called for a photoshoot and I couldnt have asked for a more unique backdrop.
