Things are going to be a little different around here from now on. Beauty will now be in two sections. Starting with discovery posts, where we both learn a little bit about new collections, new brands or just a whole new collection from our most loved brands. That section will simply be named ‘Discovering.’ And there will be this section, ‘Get the Look’; the idea being that I create full face looks with a set of new products, so we can try them out together. No more singular reviews, instead I want to give you usable and fun information, and trial products side by side.
Here I created a full eye look with some newbies, and totally fell in love with the shadows. The brush is tucked inside the fairy dust pots, so the application of the shimmery powder is a total breeze. I added the Copper to the lid and ran the olive green and gold through the crease as an alternative to my usual tan shades. How beautiful is it! Im absolutely sold on these, anything that doesnt require a brush is a big plus in my eyes. Keep an eye out as they should be stores really soon, or you can get them shipped over from Sephora right now! And for more colour, I ran the Burberry Pale Grape liner over the upper lash line as a deep purple liner and it just enhanced the shades of the green and gold. This is my new favourite combination for sure.
Now the mascara isnt waterproof, but it did really impress me. It separates and lengthens like a dream, and I found that because I had to go back and recurl my lashes after application (as with every non waterproof mascara), the mascara wasnt sticky, and therefore I wasnt pulling out my lashes to recurl. Winner! So the result after recurling was beautiful and I’m so pleased Ive found a new mascara that I love.
And the final piece of the puzzle was the brows. I used the Pixi Natural Brow pen, to fill in any sparse areas with the nib, carving out a desired shape. Not the easiest way of filling in my brows in honesty – Im definitely a brush and brow pot kind of gal. But in terms of this sort of product, it did the job. Not my biggest recommendation though. Although I did like that the opposite side of the pen holds a brow gel that adds more colour and brushes your brows through to set. I did go over these with the Maybelline Brow Drama though, which I would recommend much much more. A really inexpensive product and the shape of the wand is fantastic for brushing the brows into a beautiful shape.
Let me know your thoughts on the new Get the Look series and hopefully they will be sticking around for the future!
