Leather, mesh and lace up crotches on top of crazy platforms…
Pam Hogg is known for creating fashion outside of the box, and almost outside of the general fashion boundaries. Her fantasy characters could form their own theatrical scenes on the catwalk, but instead strut carefully on their 5 inch platforms towards the cameras and back again. Metallic leathers and PVC had their place amongst studded suedes and slogan cut outs. There were a number of mesh jumpsuits with seams and leather patches in all the right places as well as flared trousers held together by laces to the crotch and straps to the legs.
Whilst the headpieces were the focal points to the outfits, there was definitely a beauty to a number of the pieces and hints at what we may be viewing in stores come Autumn. Metallic leathers and the blocks of coloured metallics to skirts or jackets could definitely become a popular choice, whilst studs may also make a come back.
This sort of fashion isn’t my particular style, obviously, but I have a great respect for a designer who isn’t afraid to let their personality and passions shine through. This show was an absolute spectacle.
