Instant Light Natural Lip Perfectors in My Pink, Red and Orange
When I added the Clarins Lip Perfectors to my collection, a few years back, I knew I had stumbled across something pretty special. Everyone shared this feeling and the Natural Lip Perfector became a firm favourite of the Clarins coveter. However, it is now 2015, and Clarins have launched their Lip Balm Perfectors, as a balm alternative to their more glossy, perfecting sister. The packaging is sleeker and the product is just as wonderful, although this time, the texture is more soft, comforting and contains hydrating balm properties. They still have a high shine finish, especially the red shade, whilst the Pink is brightening with a tint of baby pink. Check out the photo below for a shot of me wearing it. But I have just fallen for this product so hard. The consistency, the way it hydrates and doesn’t dry out your lips after an hour, the incredible colour pay off, the shades. ‘My Pink’ has made its way into my handbag makeup bag – that is how much I intend to use this on a daily basis.
As for the palette, Clarins always bring out the most beautiful colour combinations in beautiful, luxurious packaging. Slipped inside its velvet rouge sleeve, the golden mirrored package houses 6 shades, that on first glance are nothing out of the usual. Yet, when I came to apply, the creaminess of the shades, mixed with the pigmentation and pay off, really impressed me, more than recent Clarins shadows. I added the two pink and coral shades to the lid, the taupe brown to the crease, the creamy white to the inner corners and brow bone, and the deep forrest green to the lash line with a thin liner brush. I finished off the look with the Intense green eye kohl to the lower lash line. I have never mixed greens with corals, but it most absolutely works a treat. The finished eye look with the Pink Natural Lip Perfector can be viewed just below and I was so excited with the completed finish.
And the final product, the Joli Rouge lipstick in Coral Dahlia, you can see just below. Another bright wash of colour for the lips, that applies much more subtle than you would expect . Whilst it looks like a bright coral red in the images, on the lips it applies a soft high-shine coating, that translates to a watered down finish and hydrated wash of colour. So stunning and with this formula, it also doesn’t lead to dried out lips.
