Something totally different for me…
This is the first time I’ve tried Diptyque, although I’ve heard numerous bloggers and vloggers singing their praises so many times. As you guys know, I’m a floral, sweet kind of gal, with my fragrance motto being the more candy, the better. And you can probably tell that this fragrance isn’t going to follow that usual theme. Instead, Diptyque create mature and feminine fragrances featuring spicy, floral, fruity and woody notes, meaning that the brand has built a huge fan base of luxury fragrance lovers. This brand reminds me somewhat of Jo Malone, in that the scents are luxurious and made for the woman who cares about her unique scent, plus the packaging is the sort of thing you’d like to show off on your cabinets.
This scent though, I must admit, is not my absolute favourite. Not just because it is so different to my usual fruity and candys, but due to how reminiscent the scent is to cucumbers. This Eau de Toilette smells like a concentrated number of cucumbers locked inside a perfume bottle with woody notes of fresh leaf and bark. The scent is actually Fig tree, but I assure you, its smells very much of cucumbers with that underlying wood aroma. For those that really adore bright, fresh and especially cucumber scents, may find this absolutely to their taste. There are some days in spring and summer when I will definitely be wearing this as a difference to my usual fruitys, but as an everyday scent, I would miss my sweet scents too much.
Please let me know below if you know of a Diptyque scent that might suit me a little better. How do you feel about Diptyque scents?
