Ive gone a little powder mad..

What do we have here?

Hourglass Blush in Dim Infusion to my cheeks

I may have stumbled upon a new website, the Urban Retreat website, and then got a little spendy with some products I’ve been lusting over for quite some time. It stocks a lot of brands you will know and love, and I am always in the market for luxury style beauty websites where you can find the products you’re desperate for. These are three that made the cut and here is my verdict…

The Laura Mercier Pressed Powder

I’ll start off with this one, because in honesty this is my least favourite. I love the packaging and the fact it comes with a little sponge for those on-the-go touch ups, yet it didn’t quite do what I wanted it to. I only use powder to set my under eye concealer for the day, but even when using this with a very light duo-fibre brush, I found that the finish was nowhere near as light and perfected as my usual favourite, the hourglass ambient light powder in Ethereal light. For that reason only, I’m not as taken on this, as after spending hours creating a skin like, yet illuminated under eye concealer, I don’t then want it to look cakey and as though Ive over-powdered the area. I’m disappointed to say it doesn’t work for me, but it’s just not as good as other powders.

The Hourglass Ambient Lighting Palette

Moving on to the ambient lighting palette, well this is a different story. Now a part of my everyday routine, this beautiful little package houses a box of radiant light for your skin. I sweep the more bronzed powder over my cheeks and temples as a richer glow, and the two lighter shades I use as a very natural cheek highlight, brow-bone highlight and I also sweep this down my nose and over my forehead. This product is so finely milled and pigmented, that by using a brush and adding this to particular points on your face, you get such a light sweep of colour, so your skin just looks like its gleaming from within. Its just so stunning I cant even explain. Madly in love with this.

The Hourglass Blush in Dim Infusion

I’ve wanted this beautiful peach blush every since I spotted Estee loving it and that marble effect just made me need it. This is a pretty and natural coral blush that can enhance your cheeks and natural glow. Nothing too powerful and in a shade that could match so many skin tones, this is another product I’m so glad I picked up. The packaging is beautiful as always and the amount of product inside is simply amazing. It’s going to last you a really really long time. I find that this works so beautifully alongside the hourglass palette too, just take a peek of me wearing all three products above! I loved this makeup day!

Which do you love the most? Are you tempted by any?
