Illamasqua Skinbase, Kitsch Lipstick and HydraVeil Primer

A few months ago I became obsessed with this foundation and it’s still a fave. Plus, this lipstick is in my top five. Take a peek..

Lets start with the Skin Base Foundation, as I’m sure that you may have been intrigued by this foundation at some point in your makeup life. And if not, then you may need to take a little walk by the Illamasqua counter in your local makeup store. It is reknowned for being a medium-high coverage foundation in a huge range of shades. Illamasqua even cater for those with extremely pale skin with their 01 shade, although due to my tanning routines, I found 5.5 to be my match. It isnt as thick as Laura Mercier Silk Cream but it is thicker Lancome Teint Miracle. Think Nars Sheer Glow or a medium viscosity foundation, meaning that the coverage is fantastic and near enough to flawless. There have been a large number of special occasions that I have worn this for as I knew it would make my face look pretty darn great. Plus no SPF means no camera flashback. Perfect.
p.s. I’m wearing this foundation in the two photos above.
The lipstick in Kitsch is up there with my absolute faves. It is almost a dupe for Corrupt which is probably fighting for first place in my favourite lipsticks stakes, yet this is slightly more satin and moisturising. Corrupt is much more mattifying. So choose which you prefer depending on what finish you prefer. Corrupt can be quite drying, but nothing that a layer of Carmex cant fix. Kitsch is definitely more hydrating and just as wonderful in terms of colour. The colour pay off and pigmentation with these lipsticks is wonderful and this colour of lipstick just suits my skin tone and hair down to the ground. I’m wearing it in that last picture you can see.

And finally, HydraVeil is one of Illamasqua’s cult products. This is a primer like no other, as it forms into a gel, is broken up for your application onto your face using the tiny spatula, and then within minutes forms back into a gel. If this is what it does in the tub, imagine what it is doing on your face – practically ironing out all bumps and lumps to give you a smooth flawless base ready for foundation. I was blown away when I first saw this and used it and I understand now why its a best seller. If you’re not one for a more dewy primer though, Illamasqua also sell the Matte Veil, which does the same job without the dewy satin coating.

So there we have three products that I could not choose between if you asked me to. A primer turned new skin coating, a flawless foundation with every shade under the sun and my favourite shade of fuchsia pink lipstick. Can you tell I have a lot of love for this brand?!

Which is your favourite? Or are you tempted to try any?
