A few of those products you have probably thought about buying, but haven’t gotten round to picking up yet. Well here is my verdict…
Left: Alpha H Right: Jouer
Alpha H Skin Tint
Jouer Luminizing Moisturise Tint
Alpha H Skin Tint in light/medium
Jouer Luminizing Moisture Tint in Pearl
Living Proof Prime Style Extender
These are all cult brands and cult products, hence why they are stocked on one of my favourite beauty websites, Cult Beauty. Alpha H is a brand I have always wanted to try out, with their Liquid Gold masque being a best seller, cited profusely by beauty Gurus as being the best in the biz. I got the chance to try out their Skin Tint, a makeup/skincare hybrid that aims to perfect the skin with a separate concealer and tinted moisturiser. Whilst the moisturiser blurs, smoothes and neutralises colours to give you perfect skin, the concealer within the lid, (and built in mirror) provide coverage for under eye circles or other imperfections. It contains Matixyl 6, a plumping chemical that is meant to reduce the appearance of lines, and hyaluruonic acid, which as we all know and love, provides our skin with much needed moisture. The more you use it, the more this works to plump and repair the skin, so its in all round goody. I loved the finish it gave, and having a concealer built into the product is a definite bonus. As for plumping and everything else, I must admit I didnt notice a huge difference, yet I didn’t wear this every day continuously. Yet, seeing as the Alpha H brand have gained such a following for their incredible skincare, I think this may be a fantastic option for those who love makeup with added skincare benefits.
The Jouer Moisture Tint in Pearl is a product I have used in the past, and reviewed, if I remember rightly. But it has remained a product that I go back to for the summer months. Lighter than a foundation but with enough oomph to covers those nasties, it blends well and is a pretty great colour match for me. The luminizing version of this product, as it does also come as a matte, is not the shiny tint that you might imagine, but has a very subtle dewiness and some light reflection. But its definitely a tinted moisturiser to keep in mind and with the SPF20, this was a great choice for my recent holidays. Its not something I use everyday, but for those no makeup days, this is a fave.
The Living Proof Prime Style Extender is a product and indeed, a brand, that I have never used before. A cult favourite of Jennifer Aniston, this stuff is fantastic for the girl who loves her good hair days. I add a 20p amount of this into the hair when damp, running it over each strand from root to tip before drying. This product uses hydrogen bonds and a ‘Healthy Hair Molecule’ technology to coat every hair in a non-greasy shield that protects the hair from heat, yet leaves it smooth and weightless. Upon styling, the hydrogen bonds in the product react to the heat and stay in place 2x longer than your normal style. So adding this into the hair before you will later heat curl it, is a total winner. The hair is kept in place a lot longer without feeling weighed down, which also means you will have to wash it less. It also repels dirt, so for those of us with coloured hair, having to wash our hair less is a bonus. So this is a product I have been loving using as a luxury and yet it is not too bad of a price. Im also a big fan of the packaging and branding of this product as it just looks so luxurious.
So there are three cult products that I’m recently rather fond on.
Thoughts on any of these?
