The Once Collection and Cream tea

Say hello to yet another wonderful collection from Illamasqua. I know I say this a lot, but this brand can seriously do no wrong..

The Once Collection includes a number of stunning new products for the Illamasqua range. If you’re new to Illamasqua, were talking about a luxury beauty brand that specialises in stage makeup, but happens to also sell everything you need to look absolutely flawless. So, of course, they have become a cult favourite, and some of their best sellers are products you need in your makeup drawers. You just need to search Illamasqua here on Inthefrow to see a number of my raving reviews.
So a few weeks back, the lovely ladies at Illamasqua took me for a wonderful cream tea in London, to show me all of their lovely new products. We ate clotted cream and jam scones whilst twittering over the perfect rose pink shade of the new powder blush in Naked Rose. The shade of this is so subtle, just a light sweep adds a pretty pink blush to the cheeks and would look beautiful on so many skin tones.

The nail polish in Melange, I admit, I haven’t tried on my nails yet. But if its like the other Illamasqua polishes, it will be pretty long lasting with a great vibrancy. This polish is two toned, so gold in one light moving to deep green in another, so this is going to be one of my go-to autumn shades.

The eyeshadows are in limited edition packaging right now, cased in a luxurious gold lid and glass jar. True to form, I went for the two brown shades when I was testing out their consistencys for the photo, using Courtier as a base and inner corner shade and adding Embellish to the outer corner and crease. The intensity of these eyeshadows is beautiful, especially Embellish, in that lusted over deep bronze brown shade that suits pretty much everyone. Plus the metallic and cream finish to these is stunning. They get a big seal of approval from me.
And finally, the glosses. I believe that Opulent has been around for a while as a cult favourite of the Illamasqua lover. Described as rainbow beige, this gloss is one of those that can cover any lipstick and just add that sparkle and shine that youre after. But alone, it adds a touch of nude and lots of glitter and gloss. The newby to the glosses station though is Exquisite, a sheer pink gloss with a subtle colour pay off and high gloss finish. Not overly sticky, this gloss can be worn over nude lips for that subtle baby pink tint, or over your favourite lipstick to gloss it up and cool down the tones.
Phew, that was a lot of information, but hopefully it’s given you more of an insight into the newest Illamasqua collection to high the shelves. It isn’t as bright and vibrant as the last collection, with its peach and pink lip liquids and bright finishes, it has certainly gone back to its core offering and added to its range of supreme variety. If you have never bought something from Illamasqua, I promise you are missing out. They are a huge huge favourite of mine and they create makeup that is on par with the best in the biz.
How are we feeling the new collection?
