It isn’t often that I get excited by the lower-end cosmetics categories, but theres something about these two palettes that are making me reach for them. A lot..
I must admit. When I see these sorts of palettes, with a plethora of shades to choose from, I immediately think, cheap and bad quality. I guess I’ve become a bit of a cosmetics snob over the years. Yet, I was extremely happy to be proved wrong with these two.
The blush palette features 8 shades from bronze through peach, pink and a pink toned highlighter. For the girl who loves to apply their makeup in a rush, this is one of those god send products. Use a brush to apply the highlighter to the cheek bones, add some of the peach or pink shades to the apples of the cheeks and finish with a bronze to the cheek hollows. And voila, you have a pretty perfect contour within a minute. There are a number of shades to choose from, so you can find the right shade to match your style on the day, and the pigmentation is better than I could have ever imagined. You definitely need to knock off any excess powders before applying, as the colour pay off is brilliant. I’ve got a lot of love for this palette.
Makeup Revolution Ultra Eyeshadows Palette
The eye shadow palette is the one that made me a little dubious. So many shades in one set and for only £8. Can’t be real, can it? But actually, its so much better than I initially gave it credit for. The mixture of shades include shimmers, large glitters and mattes, so the number of looks you can create, are literally endless. I was stuck when I came to try them on, choosing what look I wanted to go with, but I went for my usual brown smokey eye. A light champagne to the inner corner, a pink toned glitter beige over the eyes and a matter brown to the crease. They blended wonderfully and the pigmentation was gorgeous. This gets a huge thumbs up from me. And by the way, I’m wearing both palettes in the images above.
Have you tried anything from Makeup Revolution that you love? Maybe I need to try some other pieces out now!
