Say hello to some of my most coveted products recently and new finds. Everyone is searching for those products that create an incredible base, and I’ve definitely found some gems.
Mac Prep and Prime in Light Boost
Maybelline Eraser Eye Concealer in Light
Clarins True Radiance Foundation in Beige
Aveda Tinted Moisturiser in Aspen
I’ve thrown in two choices for a base here, depending on whether you’re a tinted moisturiser or foundation girl. The foundation is fairly pink toned, not as yellow as some of my other foundations, yet it adds a beautiful silky finish and a radiance to the skin. Slightly dewy but not to the extent of other foundations and I was really impressed with the overall result. That is what I’m wearing above. The Aveda Tinted Moisturiser is lighter and almost creates a wash of colour. It isn’t greasy but adds a dewy radiance over the skin and will just be a light wash of colour for those no makeup days. I may start adding this into darker foundations to lighten them and make them go even further as the finish and consistency is really lovely. And of course, I apply any base with my Zoeva silk finish brush. I have used a number of brushes for foundation, including the Real Techniques Buffing Brush and the Real Techniques Expert Face Brush, but I’ve just fallen in love with my new Zoeva brush from the rose gold set. They’re just beautiful, don’t shed and make your skin look flawless.
After the foundation is applied, concealer is one of my essentials to ensure my eyes look bright and fresh. I add the Maybelline Eraser eye to my under eyes and will either use a brush or my fingers to pat it into the skin gently. I love this concealer, as it applies product through a sponge ball on the end, meaning that most of the concealer blending is done for you. The shade is also great for me and really brightens and remove those dark shadows. I was more impressed with this than I thought I’d be, I love it. Yet after the concealer is applied, I will then apply Mac Prep and Prime in a triangular shape under my eyes with small brush strokes, as when this is blended out, it adds so much light back into the skin. I always use a big fluffy blending brush (Sigma E40) for this. It really lifts the under eye area and is so briliant used with concealer. I could not live without this now. Holy grail for definite.
