How Angels Ought to Smell

Ive been putting off writing this post, only because I find explaining perfume scents to be one of the most difficult things in the world. There just arent enough words to describe how something smells. So, finally, I have plucked up the courage to put my nose to the testing and tell you all about some lovely new scents Ive been playing with.

Victoria Secret Secret Crush Lotion and Body Mist
The Body Shop Shea Eau De Toilette
Marc Jacobs Daisy Dream
Le Soft Perfume Parisian Rhapsody
Le Soft Perfume Copacabana
Soap and Glory Orangeasm Tonic Fragrance

Ill start with Victorias Secret. Love this. I bought this in San Francisco and a friend recently informed me I can buy these over here too, so happy days. My favourite watermelon scent, in a juicy, bright aroma. Wonderful for spritzing all over you after a warm shower. Then Ill coat myself in the lotion and feel absolutely amazing. I literally love these products as I am a huge watermelon scents/taste fan. Definite repurchases.

The Body Shop Shea Eau De Toilette is a new one for me. I used to be a huge fan of White Musk in my younger days, so Body Shop scents will always have a place in my heart. This would be perfect for those that love the shea scent, quite a rich vanilla, nutty scent, who want to coat themselves in Shea body butter and then continue the scent onto their clothing and pulse points. This is such a lovely bright and summery scent and wonderful for after showers and for every day, just to slip quickly into your bag.

The Marc Jacobs Daisy Dream seems to have gotten around everywhere, and rightly so, it is lovely. I first picked this up from World Duty Free when they had exclusivity, but it has since made its way into every other store, for anyone not jetting away any time soon. It reminds me of the original daisy, but brighter, fresher, fruity and floral and Im pretty sure everyone will love this scent. I prefer it to Daisy personally and the bottle is totally stunning. Absolute summer winner for a lot of people and Marc Jacobs are really continuing to take the perfume market by storm.

Next are two fragrances by Le Soft Perfume from Cult Beauty. The first, Parisian Rhapsody is a summery floral rose scent, quite mature and feminine but light and so pretty. It almost reminds me of the scent of a summers day in the countryside. Copacabana has more of a citrus aroma, with orange blossom, jasmine and violet with a subtle peppery undertone, so as to not overpower you with floral. I would say this is a nighttime holiday scent, whereas Parisian Rhapsody is for a summers day. The paper illustrated packaging is so cute, with small compact sticks that you can rub over your wrists and neck for a touch of fragrance. Theres something so prim and proper about these that I adore and the handy travel size makes them perfect for your tiny handbag.

Finally, the Soap and Glory Orangeasm tonic. Something that I would use more as a mist than a full on perfume, it would be perfect for spritzing after a shower with the orangeasm body wash, which is also rather yummy. As you imagine, its citrusy and orange, with lemon, fresh mint and orange peel oils. So just an explosion of zingy fresh vitamin C, so perfect for those lovers of orange scents. But I am personally loving using mists after using the shower gel, as you feel extra clean and smelling incredible.

So there we are, that was a lot of sniffing and testing and now I might go and throw my nose into a bag of coffee beans. I hope Ive intrigued your senses somewhat. Let me know any scents youve been loving recently!
