Hen Doos with Elvis Presley

Hen doo season has officially started. And we started this one off with a bang…

Have you ever wondered what I get up to on the weekends? Well this apparently. This year has been my first year of ‘wedding season’ excitement, with a few of my close friends getting engaged and married this year and the next. Super exciting but also very scary that we are all growing up so much. It’s definitely not on the cards for me anytime soon though, that is for sure.
So I thought I’d share with you a few little images from the weekend. Our gorgeous bride Emma wanted to head to Leeds for 2 days, so the six of us, plus a few of her lovely friends, all got onto buses and trains and made the trek to Leeds. We stayed at the Holiday Inn and me and my best buddy Steph spent the evening in TGI Fridays drinking cocktails larger than our faces – I highly recommend asking them to make you what I called The Queen Rosy. Orange sorbet, vanilla icecream, strawberry liquor and champagne. It is too die for!! Then the other girls arrived and we continued drinking until an earlyish night before the big Saturday night out.
Now, the girls had come up with the idea that we should ALL dress as Elvis for the evening. Emma is a huge Elvis fan so they thought she would love it, although I, first of all hate dressing up, and second of all, hate tacky hen doo parties. But I put my annoying hatreds aside and got into the swing. As soon as my friend told me we were dressing as Elvis, I hoped and prayed and begged that there would be an Elvis Vegas Casino night on the cards, but alas we were heading into Leeds centre for a night on the lash. After the buzz of winning about $100 in Vegas last year in the Luxor Casino, Ill admit its pretty addictive. But to be honest, the club night in Leeds was awesome and I had the best time! After coating myself in Elvis inspired (female) makeup, I loved the whole idea and we all had such an awesome time. In case you were wondering, I used Mac Russian Red on my lips and Urban Decay’s Ammo 2 palette on my eyes, with a flawless base from Laura Mercier.
The next day we headed to a gorgeous restaurant for breakfast, although ended up all eating roast dinners and pate to start. It was absolutely heavenly and one of the best places I have ever eaten – The Botanist. If you can find it in Leeds or Alderley Edge, make sure you visit! The effort put into the presentation is astounding and the whole vibe is just gorgeous!
So that was everything. An amazing weekend with my gorgeous ladies to celebrate Emmas wedding in June. Stay tuned for some wedding snaps, but if you’re wondering what I’ll be wearing, Ive put it all together here.
Let me know if you enjoy these sorts of posts and I can fill you in on more of my everyday life posts :)
