Clarins never fail to disappoint with their new collections and I have truly fallen for this one, hook, line and sinker.
The golden products for me are the lip balm crayons, with the most beautiful balm consistency and a sheen of colour. In the images above I am wearing My Pink, a light pink, barely there shade that is perfect for applying alone on bare lips. I have been wearing this every day since I got it and I just adore the consistency, the packaging and the way it keeps my lips feeling soft and hydrated. I haven’t tried many lip crayons before, apart from the Lord and Berry Twistick’s I reviewed recently which definitely made me a convert. These have the added benefit of being a balm/tint hybrid and are just divine. My pink is truly a winner.
I am also wearing the eye liner palette in the image. Adding the lightest beige all over my lids, I then added the terracotta to the centre of my lid. I added the second darkest brown to my crease line and darkened up the very outer corners with the darkest brown. The royal blue I then applied along my lower lash line as an eyeliner and for that stunning pop of colour. Such a gorgeous palette, as always and something that I imagine would suit darker skin tones wonderfully. I love blue and orange together so as soon as I opened this I fell in love with the look it was going for. Whilst you might not wear the blue on orange everyday, the remaining brown shades are perfect for everything else, so you should definitely get a lot of wear out of this. Then for your evening out, just pat on the orangey terracotta and sweep on the blue eyeliner to vamp it all up. The shades aren’t incredibly pigmented as some eyeshadows can be, yet I feel the Clarins consumer isn’t after a vibrant glitterball eye look. They are a beautiful consistency and blend beautifully with great colour pay off.
And finally the waterproof mascara, which you can see my wearing in the images. Quite lengthening and volumising. It didn’t overly blow me away on my first applications with to-die-for lashes, yet I still haven’t found any mascara that can do that for my ultra straight lashes. Yet, its a mascara I will alternate between and I did love the overall finish. In fact the second time I wore it, I made sure to curl my lashes really really well first and applied the mascara, taking time to really separate the lashes and fully coat. After applying, this is the first time since I can remember that I haven’t had to recurl my lashes after mascara, and that is due to the waterproof steadfastness of this mascara in comparison to my non waterproof. My lashes looked amazing for the first time and on the second application, I have totally fallen in love with this mascara now! I don’t have any other waterproof mascaras either so this has totally converted me, although removing them can be a little more tricky.
So which should you rush out and buy? I would now say the mascara, its so gorgeous. But then second on the list are the lip crayons and you have to get swatching them yourself to find your perfect shade. There are six to choose from, from baby pink to a coffee brown, so you’re sure to find a favourite in between. And if you’re looking for a new eye shadow palette to keep on your dressing table for special occasions, then I think you may have found what you’re looking for with this.
