So I’m not too sure why it has taken me so long to review this separately. I’ve been so busy shooting outfit photos recently that I’ve not had as much time for beauty reviews, even when it comes to my favourite product of the past 8 months. The Xen Tan Moroccan tan is my one and only. Recently I tried a selection of rival brands, and as I mentioned in my last review, none matched up to the brilliance that is the Moroccan tan. So heres why it’s so excellent. It applies smoothly onto the skin and due to the oil content, sinks in beautifully, not leaving you with a sticky feeling and a worry that you will have to walk around the house naked for the day. Instead, apply this bad boy at night, definitely with a mitt, cover your body in (old) pyjamas and eight hours later, wash it off. I always get a gratifying feeling when I see the tan running away down the shower drain. Whilst an excess layer of product is washed off of your skin, it still leaves a beautiful all over tan. The shade is olive brown, rather than orange brown and due to that it is super flattering and a realistic shade of ‘Ive just been to Dubai for a week.’ It doesn’t streak due to the way in which it sinks into the skin and any excess product is washed away as I mentioned, so your application will be perfect pretty much every time.

I don’t put this on my face, instead covering up to my jaw line and covering my face instead in my Dior bronze face and body tanner. I am scared to put it on my face for fears of coming out in awful pore filled spots, plus with a good splash of bronzer the next day, no one would know my face is about three times lighter than my entire body! Yes the tanner does have that biscuity smell, but its not quite as awful as some. And the day after, it does tend to linger on your skin, even after a shower. But yet, for the colour it gives you and a staying power of around 4-5 days, nothing else comes to close to this.

If you buy it in this set, you get the exfoliation gel too, that can be used in the shower to exfoliate the body in a super minty fresh scent. It really helps to remove that dead skin and left over flakes of tan on the skin before you reapply for the evening and we all know prep is often the best thing you can do. Plus you get a new tanning mitt in the set, so overall its a pretty awesome deal and you can save around £7. But if you’re not after anything other than the star product, try it out on its own and see what you think. I would be very very surprised if you were disappointed.
