Packing for the Summer: Bikini and Holiday Outfit Edit

The summer is fast approaching, which probably means that your holiday isn’t all that far off. As I am lucky enough to be booked onto a Trekamerica trip to the west coast of the USA this summer, I have been keeping my eyes open for some amazing bikini and holiday outfits. Because I am collecting together so many amazing pieces, I thought a bikini and summer outfit edit was in order, so here we are. If you dont like looking at female bodies, you might not want to continue reading… but if you’re after some bikini and holiday outfit inspo, this might be the post for you!

Every girl needs the perfect bikini and I think its all about finding one that you feel comfortable in, that will cover you if you accidentally fall into the pool and that really works with your skin tone. There are so many styles around now to choose from, whether you want strapless, triangle or tankini, but as you can tell, Im rather fond on the bandeau shape.

Daytime Essentials
Whether you’re laying around the pool or off on an outing around the shops or local beaches, you will need to pack some comfortable but fashionable threads. Kaftans are perfect to throw on over your bikini, keeping you cool but just covering enough so that you feel decent in public. These two from Beach Cafe are absolutely stunning and I cannot wait to wear the fringed kaftan in LA this summer. Perfect for by the pool, on the beach and over a cami and shorts as a throw over piece.
The towel is another piece from South Beach and will be my one and only towel for my trip. Better to choose a dark coloured towel if you’re planning on using tanning oils, or wearing makeup by the pool, as white would show all manner of sins.
Then you need a few daytime outfits. Camis, crops, jersey dresses, lightweight trousers and cute shorts are all perfect for different occasions. Kimonos are also perfect for layering and looks so gorgeous for either day or night-time wear. You can also dress them up for a night out or for a drink in a local bar. And don’t forget a small bag for all your little bits and pieces for the daytime, and perfect for the night.

Nightime Glam

Everyone loves to dress up on holiday. It’s the only time we can justify going out most nights of the week. That’s why you will need a few pieces that are super summery but also quite special for the evening. This white playsuit from This is a Love Song is so so pretty and will look amazing with a tan. The fabric is lightweight and the shape is really beautiful, so you’ll be sure to feel your best. I just added a nice chunky necklace for a bit of bling. This one is from Narum Jewellery, a new jewellery brand I stumbled across with so many gorgeous pieces in this style. Then you need a really cute, fun piece like the coords from Soul Junkie, perfect for teaming with heels or even flats for the daytime and finally a full on statement jumpsuit. Again light and cool, perfect for that special night drinking cocktails whilst the sun sets.

I really hope you might be a tad more inspired for your jols now, if not more excited for them. It’s all about taking pieces that you feel comfortable in but where you can also make your own statement. Its a time you can be a little more lively with your clothing, if you’re not too confident usually. Playsuits, coords and jumpsuits are perfect for nighttime, with jersey dresses, camis and shorts being great for the daytime, but the two can switch up with just a simple pair of heels. But I think most importantly, get yourself a bikini that makes you feel sexy, confident and comfortable. Its the only time you get to bare all in public, so you want to look a million dollars.
