(Julie Hewett Edie Lipstick – £17.50*)
I think the first time I stumbled upon this brand was when Fleur De Force used it in a makeup routine. I’m a total sucker for a nude pink lip, so when it looked fabulous on her, it was immediately added to my ‘to buy’ list. I was bought this for Christmas after adding it to my Pinterest Chrtistmas Wishlist board, something I do every year that works perfectly as a Christmas gift store.
The lipstick is lovely. Really moisturising, applies beautifully and gives such a subtle nude finish. I generally apply it to my lips after I have applied all makeup, including foundation over my lips. I always do this as I prefer my lips to be prepped for lipsticks; I hate applying lipstick over my natural lip colour as it doesn’t give a true feel for the lip shade. Anyway, this just enhances the nude pink finish and it is so lovely! For a more pricey alternative, I would also go for the YSL Rouge Volupte in Nude Beige as that is a similar shade, just more moisturising in texture. But for a lovely lipstick to apply over a more matte nude, this would just add that satin finish. My most favourite way to use it is over the top of my new Illamasqua Fable lipstick, which is my new favourite shade. As the lipstick is matte, adding this over the top just enhances the finish, gives it a moisturising feel and looks stunning. So if you’re after a very versatile lipstick, this is something I would highly recommend!
Have you ever tried Julie Hewett Makeup before? Could you recommend anything to me?
