The Body Shop Smokey Plum Eye Palette

(The Body Shop Smokey Plum Eye Palette –  £15)

(The Body Shop Smokey Plum Eye Palette – £15)

I’m annoyed at myself for not getting this review up sooner, as now this product is out of stock. However, if you can still got your hands on one in a local store, then do so. However, the overall eyeshadow effect you could create from any cream, cranberry and plum shadows that you have.

I feature this palette in my most recent video and I absolutely adore it. So much so that I haven’t used any other colours for over two weeks and I wish I had bought a back up palette. But never mind, I’m sure I will live. The shades are just absolutely perfect, extremely pigmented and blend beautifully together. It also comes with a handy tutorial on the back if you’re unsure and two small brushes for application – and Body Shop brushes are some of the best. If you wanted to recreate this palette with Mac, based on swatches I would probably recommend Mac Nocturnelle, Trax, Phloof and Mylar, but see what you think. But I would also have a look at Urban Decay because no doubt they will have something even better. In fact the Ammo 2 palette has very similar shades without the darkest plum and I also adore that palette just as much.

I literally just used my one and only Mac 217 brush to sweep the lightest shade over the entire eye. Used the second shade over my lid, the cranberry shades in the crease and outer corner and a little extra of the darkest plum on the very outer edge. Simples yet the effect is stunning. The Body Shop never fails to bring out a must have product for every limited release. I just need to be a little quicker next time it seems.
