It was this day last year that I first sat down to design and write Inthefrow. I had become so intrigued and excited by reading beauty and fashion blogs for the year previous and I finally decided that I wanted to have my say. I asked my flatmate if she thought that people may read what I had to write and she supportively replied that she did. And so the journey began.
I must say that the last year has been the best of my life. The experiences, people and places I have had, seen and been have been incredible and I’m so thankful every day for everything. In a nostalgic sense, I thought I would quickly recap the amazing experiences I have encountered in the past year.
I was nominated and became the proud Winner of the Company Magazine Personal Style Blog Award. It was only a few months into my blogging and it was the biggest achievement I could have hoped for. I was so proud of my work and so amazed to have been voted for. Thank you so much again to anyone who voted for me.
My first blogging event was held at the ghd showrooms in London. I travelled all the way down there for the day and got to meet four amazing bloggers whose blogs I adored. That was one of the moments when I realised that blogging was way bigger than I ever expected and I knew I wanted a piece of the pie. Other events I attended included the Company Blog Awards, two Ark Clothing student events as their photographer, London Fashion Week, the Rihanna for River Island Party, Swimwear 365, South Beach Blog Party, Get the Label and the amazing Nothern Blogger Meet-Up organised by the gorgeous Em. I was also invited to attend the Manchester Phones4U arena to watch Jay Z in concert. Again I met some gorgeous bloggers who have been inspirations to me and it was such a brilliant event.
I was featured in various magazines such as Pure Beauty, Company Magazine and the New Look magazine as well as on websites including Missguided, Company, Boohoo, Manchester Fashion Network and Look Fantastic. I also modelled for Cage City for their handmade collection and had the best day shooting! Missguided also asked me to model three ways to wear a kimono which looked amazing on the website and I took over their Instagram feed for the evening for the Vogue Fashion Night Out.
I was given the opportunity to intern with Company Magazine due to winning the Style Blog Award. I spent three weeks with the fashion and features teams and it was such an awesome experience to see how the magazine comes together each month. Especially as Company is my absolute fave magazine.
Finally, I reached 3000 Bloglovin Followers a few days before my one year anniversary and that in itself is astounding. Never did I think that 3000 people would want to read my blog, and it still baffles me now. I am so glad that people enjoy what I write and it only spurs me to continue.
