(Clarins Gentle Eye Make Up Remover – £17*)
For a long time I used the Body Shop Camomile Eye make up remover, as although it stung my eyes slightly, it pulled away absolutely every inch of makeup on my eyes. However, after a while I decided to use up a bottle of the Body shop Cream cleanser that I had been bought, and after a few uses, I was hooked on cream cleansers rather than liquid removers. Yet, I am always one to love trying new and coveted products and brands, so I was excited to try the Clarins make up remover for a change back to liquids.
The product is for gentle eyes, so I find that it does not strip the make up as easily as some cleansers might. Instead, it takes a few douses of the product onto a cotton wool pad, sweeping and gently brushing the pad over the eyelashes for all of your make up to be removed. You can probably take about a minute on each eye before all of the make up is swept away. Yet, it does remove all traces of make up. Unlike the Body Shop Camomile remover, it doesn’t sting your eyes and is definitely a very gentle and sensitive product, so for those with fussy eyes, this may be a lovely alternative to try. Yet, as a user of the Benefit They’re Real Mascara, a mascara that is notorious as being hard to remove, I find that I have to use quite a bit of the product to totally remove all eyeliner and mascara and as such, I feel that I would not get my moneys worth out of this product if I was to repurchase. Yet, I would recommend it for those with sensitive eyes and those that do not use waterproof mascaras as you may find you love this.
If you know of any fantastic removers that literally sweep make up away from the eyes, please do let me know in the comments!
