(Bumble and Bumble Surf Spray – £19.50 for 125ml, 50ml* shown)
I no longer straighten my hair. After 8 years of every day straightening, I finally got to a point where I no longer liked having straight hair and wavy was the way forward. I now only dry my hair whilst scrunching and then leave it to fall as it may. I do however love to use salt sprays at this stage, as it really helps to separate and tousle the hair even more so. I have used the Toni and Guy Salt Spray up to this point and have loved using it, yet it is the Bumble and Bumble Surf Spray, the apparent Daddy Mack of salt sprays that I have always wanted to use. I received this small sample in the Selfridges Beauty Box and was so excited to give it a go. After drying my hair, I bunched my hair together in my hands and spritzed the lengths and ends with the spray, twisting and roughing up the hair as it dried. I then sprayed a small amount onto my hands and then rubbed my hands roughly through the lengths and nearer to the roots. The results were really apparent immediately. The ends of my hair separated and fell into sections, as they would if your hair dried out of the sea. It also added a textured look to the lengths and a more undone style. The hair wasn’t crispy but instead beachy and texturised. Whilst I loved the Toni and Guy spray, the results from this really do show even more so and it is obvious why it costs such a considerable amount more. However, with more money often comes amazing products and this is no exception. If you’re looking for a surf spray, this really is one that I would highly recommend and I will be buying myself when this one runs out.
