My flatmate and I both have iPads lying around the flat. Mine is a chunky 1st generation whilst hers is the cute iPad mini and both were in need of a cover. I stumbled across a store on Etsy named KatydidStitches and fell in love instantly. There are so many gorgeous patterns to choose from, all made to order over in the US. At the time, the store did not mention that it designed cases for the 1st iPad, so I gave the lovely owner an email and asked if she could sew to spec. Luckily she was only too happy to and I was able to order the beautiful floral aqua case. The pattern wraps around the ipad and fastens with a tweed velcro strap. Inside there is then an alterative floral pattern and two pockets sewn into the cover. I absolutely adore it. My flatmate was just as happy with her sparrow print which is sewn the same way, yet with another floral baroque print sewn within.
(Love Aqua iPad 1 cover – £38.35 // Sparrow Bird iPad Mini cover – £27.70)
For anyone who has become a bit bored of the way their iPad looks and wants to give it a revamp as I did, then I would highly recommend this store. It took around 2 weeks to arrive at our door after purchasing, obviously needing time to get from the US but with additional sewing time. Yet, I would rather wait and buy a bespoke item any day. Unfortunately we did get charged a custom tax of £20, but again, sometimes you do have to pay a little extra for items from far away… if they catch you. So I would suggest buying with a friend. There are so many gorgeous patterns to choose from, you’re sure to find something you love.
