(Gandys Flip Flops – £19.99*)
Packed inside my suitcase for my trip to America are these beauties in Brighton Blue. Gandys is a brand set up by two guys who tragically lost their parents in the Boxing Day Tsunami. As orphans themselves, they wanted to help other orphans in the world and Gandys enables them to donate their time and profits to building orphanages and helping other charities in India to provide school supplies and teachers. The brand is one of those inspiring stories of bravery and dedication and I was so moved to hear about their campaign. The product they sell though is fantastic. Having travelled the world in flip flops for years, Rob and Paul decided that flip flops would be the most appropriate product to sell. Rivalling pretty much any flip flops I have worn before, you can tell just how well made and robust they are. The sole is quite thick and sturdy so your feet will stay comfortable on alternative terrains. I also love the faux plaited rubber straps which should be really comfortable for everyday. The brand name and small foot print are embedded into the straps in white but can also be printed in an assortment of colours. In fact, the colour of the straps and sole can all be changed and there are a number of colour ways to choose from. I would say that if you’re looking for a pair of flip flops for the summer, this would be a brilliant choice and also a brilliant cause. I know for definite that my next pair of flip flops will also be from Gandy’s.
