( Maybelline The Falsies Volum’ Express Mascara – £7.99 )
Mascara is one of those things that you continuously buy in the hopes you’ll find one even better than the last. I got sick of spending so much money on awful mascaras that in the end I finally stuck with one and learned how to make it work perfectly with my eyelashes. That was the Loreal Double Extension Renewal Mascara and I used it for about 18 months. However, a few months ago I was tempted by Benefit They’re Real and then recently, The Falsies. I am actually really impressed with the wand, which curves and enables you to coat more of your lashes in the natural curve of your eye. Whilst it doesn’t quite comb the lashes to the extent They’re Real does, it does coat the lashes in a wonderful jet black, opens up the eyes and lengthens the lashes. To be honest though, I think I may head back to my Benefit They’re Real just for the fact that it has a similar finish to the Falsies, yet with much better combing properties. I would say that the Falsies thickens the eyelashes more and does provide amazing length, but there is something about the extreme combing of the They’re Real that my eyelashes really need. If you’re after a jet black finish with length and thickness, then the falsies is a brilliantly priced alternative. If you need more of a comb however, stay along the lines of the plastic combed wands. I think I might alternate between the two for a while and see which I love the most, perhaps layering They’re Real over the falsies, to gain the benefits of both. I just cant decide, all I know is that I do really like this mascara and it is certainly one to try.
