This week I was invited along to the Ark Manchester student evening to take some cheeky snaps of the event. I am a huge fan of Ark. Their on-trend clothing at a really affordable price makes them stand out on the high-street as being cool and relevant yet not taking their customers for everything they’ve got. Their own women’s label, ‘Hearts and Bows’ has recently started to open stand alone stores, with Manchester having its very own, newly refurbed store around the corner from Ark Clothing. The H&B collection stocks on-trend pieces, this season loving tie-dye, dungarees and cropped tees, so your grunge or preppy summer styles are sorted.
Ark also stocks a lot of vintage items, with Levis shorts and jackets being piled high for your every requirement. I own a number of vintage pieces from here and have been able to find the perfect fit just by rummaging for a few minutes through the various styles. You can also find accessories, hats, shoes and bags on every podium, with quirky ornaments such as amusement park horses and tricycles placed around the store for a break from the norm. The staff are always so lovely and helpful and will help you to choose the perfect outfit for an occasion if you ask them.
The student event happens every six or so months and gives 20% off to students who attend. There were beers and sweets for anyone who plucked up the courage to help themselves and the events house music was supplied by DJ Craig Connelly. Also an awesome house DJ, check him out. The atmosphere was buzzing and so many students left the store with a little blue Ark bag and a smile on their face; they just saved 20% and drank a free beer. Whats not to love?!
If you haven’t heard of Ark clothing, check out their new website and check if they have a store in your UK city. You’ll definitely find a piece you’ll be desperate to get your hands on.
