As some of you may have guessed, last week I took a trip down to London for the weekend for a wonderful ghd event. The weekend was packed with shopping, night time events and of course the event itself, so I had to make sure that I was prepared for anything. I had to choose a variety of products from my makeup collection to take with me from quite a large collection, so I thought I would show you what I had in my makeup bag. I guess the fact that these were chosen show just how much I rely on these particular products and how much I trust them to do the best job.
I took quite a few brushes with me, from a number of my favourite brands. The powder brush from Real Techniques for bronzer, blush brush for blusher, buffing brush for foundation and contour brush, of course to contour. These are my staple brushes and I couldnt be without them now. I also took my Mac large angled contour brush as it is helpful for sculpting blusher and applying highlighter. I also had my bdellium kabuki with me for powdering over my concealer and the Body Shop’s slanted brush for my eyebrows. For eyeshadow I took Mac 213 and 217, as they are both my go-to brushes for eyeshadow application. The eyelash curlers are another staple and I keep them with me in my handbag usually. These ones are from Boots and say ‘Red’ along the back, Im not sure if this is the brand name or not. But they are the best product ever and I have not stopped buying them for years.
I took the REN vita-mineral day cream for moisturising underneath my makeup as it is the perfect travel size tube and I also snuck in the Garnier roll on, for brightening up my under eyes after a heavy evening the night before.
For eyeshadow I took the trusty Urban Decay Naked 2 palette as you can create any day or night look with this. The Urban decay Naked basics palette was also packed as I use this for my eyebrow colour and can double up as eyeshadow if needs be.
For my base I took the Lancome Teint Miracle in shade 010 as this is so beautiful again for day or night. The coverage is medium and really adds a glow to your skin. I took the Rimmel Wake me Up concealer for under my eyes as this truly is the best concealer out there. To set that I took my Shiseido Translucent powder which I apply with the bdellium brush. For highlighter I had the Too Faced Candlelight glow and for bronzer the notorious Nars Laguna. I only took one blush, the Body Shop shimmer waves as it is perfect as a shimmery blush and highlight. I love the colours and I thought it would be perfect and compact for the journey.
The Body Shop’s face mist is the perfect setting spray and the Body Shops eyebrow gel is the perfect eyebrow gel, simple. I also had the topshop lip-pencil to finish off my lipstick and the pixi eyeliner pen which is incredible for creating the perfect winged eye. Throughout the weekend, I used every single product and I think I might make sure this is the kit I always have with me.
What do you take away with you for a weekend? Is this tame compared to your collection or is this a few too many?
