Nars Sheer Glow Foundation in Deauville

( Nars Sheer Glow Foundation in Deauville – £32 )

I have wanted to buy this product for so long and finally took the plunge in a massive Nars haul last week. I picked up Deaville, one of the paler shades with a yellow, tan tone to give my skin a bit of a glow. I apply the foundation with a buffing brush yet the Nars assistant mentioned that they generally apply it with their hands as it applies even nicer. I think for a night when you want some more coverage, applying with your hands might be a good idea so that you apply more product, but for work I don’t want to look too over done so I use the brush to buff away any excess. I must say I love the colour and think it’s great for my skintone but in terms of the actual foundation I don’t think it’s the best I’ve ever tried. Last week my skin was fairly dry and this really did not help. I have not seen dry patches of foundation on my face for years, yet the day I used this, around my nose and on my cheek, I could see patches that were dry and obvious. Really not what I expected at all. It also isn’t the best coverage ever and I expected to feel flawless even with a normal amount applied, yet I just didn’t feel amazing. For example, with my Laura Mercier Silk Creme foundation, it immediately makes my skin look flawless, so that is what I was expecting from the sheer glow, and unfortunately I was left a little disappointed.  The fact that it doesn’t come with a pump either is a tad silly, but luckily I picked one up for an extra £3 whilst I was purchasing. If I’m honest I dont thin’k I’d repurchase this and would much rather reach for Laura Mercier or my Lancome Teint Miracle.

I know this product has had some mixed reviews before. What did you think of it?
