I am a girl who loves pink lips, hair and cheeks, if you hadn’t already noticed. So when I tried Immodest for the first time, I was extremely excited to try such a beautiful, matte lipstick shade. The product name was chosen pretty carefully, as such a shade isn’t all that modest in normal situations, yet I am not one for modest lipstick shades anyway. However, the colour does not actually turn out quite as Barbielicious as you might first expect. When swatched on the skin, the lipstick has more neon qualities, yet on my lips it was slightly more toned down, as more of a deep yet bright pink. I think it would also have looked more matte if I had not applied my usual coating of Carmex beneath, but even so I actually really love the colour on me. I think for a night out, I would try to wear this over nude lips without a shiny base below, to really bring out the matte qualities and brighten up the colour even more. It is not too brash and is actually similar to a number of colours I wear and love such as Mac Speed Dial. The consistency is lovely, glides on smoothly, doesn’t dry the lips and seems to stay on the lips for a significant amount of time. In fact, even after eating I could still notice the colour on my lips. As the first Illamasqua lipstick I have tried, I am actually really impressed and will be definitely spending more time browsing at the Illamasqua lipsticks in the future.
Are you an Illamasqua fan? What do you think of the lipsticks?
