We headed to Southport for a wander around somewhere other than Manchester City Centre. Not having a car, due to living smack in the middle of Manchester and having no need for one, does throw up some hassles when it comes to wanting a day trip. But if I actually took the time to plan, I would realise that getting out of the city is far easier than I think. It only took us an hour and 20 minute train journey and we were in our local seaside town. We headed to the cutest little tea rooms called Nostalgia that I have been to since I was tiny. It is so dated and filled with pensioners that I just absolutely love it there. Alex thought I had gone insane, but he knows I love a good old fashioned tea room so sat quietly and nibbled on his sandwiches and soup. We then headed to the Pier, got ourselves the best sherbet coated Mr Whippys and wandered here and there. After a bit of shopping for some holiday essentials, we headed back to Manchester, having had so much fun. Being spontaneous is something I really need to do more of. As are lifestyle posts, these are so fun to take pictures of. More of these to come in the future!
